My mom passed away January 2nd, 2024, her ashes were supposed to be mailed to the ********** ******** ******** in Portland, Oregon. Her ashes were mailed through the Topeka post office by the funeral director ***** ****** of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home on January 22nd, 2024 with a 1-5 day guarantee of arrival. It is now March 25th, and my mom’s ashes still haven’t arrived yet. Topeka post office said that I need the tracking number to find where my mom’s ashes are, and **** ****** says that she “doesn’t have a tracking number per se”, federal law states that she would have at least three copies of that tracking number. I have asked her four times for aforementioned tracking number and got no response in kind.
