Review from Disgusted

disgustedbuyer They did not ship the car as they said they would then when they found a shipper they damaged the car in transporting it. I told my son to not accept the car and the salesman of dealership promised they would pay for the damage and unfortunately during the time we were waiting to schedule repair the car was damaged by a drunk driver. so, the dealership backed out of the compensation they promised would be paid for a damaged car upon delivery. The car we had paid for was not the car we received and the business practice of this company is; Well, we can walk away from responsibility of compensating buyer for a car that was received damaged because someone else caused more damage. I disagree with this business practice and way of thinking! They were still responsible for the amount of the estimate. the car was still damaged because of their delivery and we should have been compensated for that! It is not about the money, it is about honor and accountability! The dealership should have done as they had promised they would, but, backed out! If I could return the car and get my money back I would! Nothing disgusts me more than unethical business practices! My family has owned a business for over 95 years and we would never not stand up and be accountable to our customers! But, not all companies feel this way! It is more lead by greed. I would not recommend buying a car from this company primarily because they do not respect nor honor their word to their customer! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!Scholfield Honda Response

Scholfield Honda disputes the claims by this customer. Scholfield Honda help arrange shipping for the customer. The vehicle was trailered to the customer in Alabama. The customer signed off at time of delivery accepting the vehicles condition. When the vehicle was being unloaded it suffered some damage on the bottom of the front bumper from the trailer ramps. Scholfield Honda was notified by the customer and reached out to the transportation company requesting they start a claim to fix the damages. The transportation company agreed to pay for damages and requested an estimate from the customer. They needed a body shop quote to pay the claim. The transportation company could not get this quote from the customer after several attempts. The customer's mother continued calling and emailing the dealership requesting payment without a quote. We then learned from the customer that the car was in a DUI accident in the same area of the transport damage after delivery. After several request and continued time spent on this issue, the transportation company sent the customer their request of over $1,000 without a damage quote. The result was the customer had the vehicle fixed by insurance from the DUI accident and then pocketed the $1,000 from the transportation company. Scholfield Honda disputes the 1 star rating and the claim. Scholfield Honda worked hard to get this issue resolved for the customer, however, do the fact the customer would not provide a damage quote, there was issues in resolving the problem promptly.

Update: the transportation company is accountable and honest. The car dealership is not! The car was not delivered to Alabama it was Mississippi! No money was pocketed or gotten by fraudulently terms as insinuated by dealership! The dealership dropped their responsibility towards the customer! The car was damaged in delivery! We provided an estimate to the dealership two days after delivery from Barnett’s Auto body shop ! At this point I will have no more communication with the dealership or their representatives because they do not tell the truth and make assumptions and insinuations that are not correct or accurate! AGAIN I SAY BUYER BEWARE, USE ANOTHER DEALERSHIP!!!!Customer Response

I want to restate facts: 1. Car was transported to Mississippi not Alabama! 2. Scholfied was paid for delivery by customer. Customer did not pay transportation company. 3.ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR WAS SENT YO DEALERSHIP AMD TRANSPOTATION VOMPANY WIYHIN 2 Days!!!!!!! 4.Signed off on delivery and acceptance of car only after dealership employee guaranteed the dealership would stand good on damage. 5. The accident where a dui driver caused damage to the car ,not our fault, had nothing to do with the responsibility of the dealership to compensate for the car not being what it was supposed to be at delivery! If you are buying a car in one condition and the car is delivered in another condition ,then it is damaged from original condition customer should not accept. Would you not expect money back if you purchased milk and it was sour! 6. My #1 point is making sure people are aware of the way the dealership does business!Review from Kevin M.

Military Veteran, First Responder September 2022, 2018 Kia Optima with 52,000 miles for $20,000 (highest market value of an issue/worry-free 18 KIA Optima w/52k miles) in the first two weeks my wife said the engine was making a noise. I checked oil and barely visible on the dipstick. I checked the oil again it was low enough to where no oil was visible on the dipstick. I took the car in and Honda wanted to charge $166 to confirm what I was telling them. I had to get a manager to waive the $166. They kept my car for the day to confirm it was burning oil. They said, "take it to Kia". I took the car to a Kia dealership and did the 1k mile oil consumption test. Scholfield provides an unlimited mile powertrain warranty but did not offer to work on my car, conduct an oil consumption test or to reach out to Kia. My new car sat 37 days at Kia waiting on a new engine. I asked the used sales manager where this car came from - he said "it was bought at auction". I called the general manager and expressed my feelings toward auction vehicles and he said, "where do you think most of our used vehicles come from?" I asked for a different car, a cash value return of my car (they said my car was worth $13,000, at auction, and could probably do $16,500) I asked for the $1500 rental car fee. Hope customers can make an informative decision before buying a car from Scholefield Honda. The Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission, BBB or even Small Claims Court may help customers with similar situations. This situation involves: a vehicle with a warranty (meeting Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), down vehicle more than 30 days and deceptive business practices customers need to be aware of.Scholfield Honda Response

We are very sorry the Maynors had an oil consumption issue with their Kia Optima. The vehicle was sold with a Limited Lifetime Powertrain CNA warranty. Scholfield Honda did find the issue and discovered that the car still had factory Kia OEM coverage on this issue. Under the Limited Lifetime Warranty we offer any OEM coverage must be used, after OEM Factory Coverage expires, the CNA Warranty given will take on coverage. This is reason Scholfield Honda directed the customer to Midwest Kia in Wichita for a factory warranty claim. The engine was replaced by Kia do to an oil consumption issue. Mr. Maynor contacted us and said that Kia was only covering a portion of the rental cost. We arranged for Mr. Maynor to rent a vehicle from the Scholfield Honda rental department at a cost that would fit Kia's reimbursement amount. We are very sorry for the inconvenience the customer had during this situation. The vehicle was fixed at no extra cost to Mr. Maynor by Kia under warranty.Review from Khalida M

They charged me 329$ for just breaks inspection, oil change and alignment, **************, I need my money back, ***************.Scholfield Honda Response

The customer asked us to do what the car said needed to be done on the dash but to hold off on the alignment, so we did just that. We did an oil change, brake inspection, rear differential fluid service, and rotated and balanced the tires which is what the meter display on the vehicle said needed to be done. We did not do the alignment because he asked us not to. He also signed for those services next to the total cost of the services. He now says that his wife did not want all of those services completed but we could not have known that because she was not here when he authorized the services to be completed.

The cost is outrageous, no one can pay over 300$ twice a year for a car maintenance, this is a rip off, I demand a refund, I'm not going back to Honda and waste my money, this is rediculous.
