I have never been so upset by a company. Bugs aren’t something anyone wants to live with. I messaged them the night I found a bug in my daughter’s bed. They immediately called me the next morning and I was impressed with how friendly and professional *** was on the phone. He knew my house square footage which made me know he did his research on my house. I agreed to wait for the heat treatment which would put me dealing with the thought of bugs in my house for 2 weeks, but I thought it would be worth it. They sent me a detailed email of everything I needed to do to prep the house. I wasn’t sleeping much in the time between calling them, to them showing up at my house for treatment day because the thought of bed bugs. I prepped my house EXACTLY how they stated, buying extra laundry baskets, cleaning out drawers, folding laundry, moving all furniture, removing flammables, and following everything to make sure it was all done. The tech showed up around 9am on the 30th, walked through the house and immediately stated he expected a smaller job. (My house is under 1000 square feet).. I apologized? and then he continued to say he may have to take more things out of the closet if needed. I stated I understood and he could do whatever he needed to to get the job done. He agreed happily and I went to work. 20 minutes into my work day (45 minutes after I left my house) I get a call from *** stating that they can’t work on my house today and that they would need to reschedule for the next week. I was devastated due to all the work it took to turn my house upside down and do all the prepping. He said it was due to our fish tank, stuffed animals being on the bed, and the closet. I asked why we were not told BEFORE Or when I was there because I would’ve gladly taken more steps if it was needed. I had also previously texted and asked about stuffed animals and was never told they couldn’t be on the beds. I asked if my husband could swing back by the house and take care of that, it would take maybe 20 minutes at most to get everything done he was asking for.. I have 2 small children and leaving my house like this for any longer WOULDN'T be an option. He said No. he couldn’t do anything for me and he was sorry he didn’t say anything when I was there. He said my husband couldn’t come back by to fix it either now because HE (the tech) wouldn’t be able to be home til 10pm if he started that late. Long story short it was very clear the technician didn’t want to do the job/work at all. There was a very clear lack of communication between sales managers and techs about what needs to be done. It takes days of prepping for this, almost 2 grand in savings, and wasted hours and hours of my time to be treated like I didn’t listen to instructions (when I did everything exactly how they asked). Thankfully I spoke to another company that day who agreed to come out, and were very very kind, patient, and helpful. They got the job done for CHEAPER and better customer service. I’m mainly writing this so other people who have busy lives aren’t saddened, made to feel dumb, or become devastated like myself by the lack of remorse and true professionalism schenedel pest services showed myself and my family. They need to make their customers (who are in most cases required to pay deposits) aware of ALL EXPECTATIONS required before the job so the customers family isn’t required to live with bugs for another 2 weeks due to schenedel’s poor communication.
