NOTE: My wife and I are legal co-guardians for our multiply disabled daughter, whom this complaint is about. We were approved (in August 2022) for a special grant from the state of Kentucky to provide the funding to Tri-State Mobility for them to provide and install a special patient transfer lift (EZ-Access Orbit Pole) in our daughter's bedroom. The original estimate #33, dated 2/17/2022, was for $8,900.00 and was provided as part of the the grant application. At the request of Tri-State Mobility - the Kentucky state representative, on our behalf, provided one half of the total estimate to Tri-State Mobility, which was over $4,500.00. An updated estimate was provided by Tri-State Mobility on Aug. 22, 2022, for $9,025.00. Then the owner of Tri-State Mobility called to inform us that the company that makes the product ("EZ-Access") has decided not to provide this product until early next year (2023) and he said it probably has to do with the pandemic shipping delays. After the new year arrived, I called "EZ-Access" myself to find out about when they will start providing this product again. They explained to me that they have permanently discontinued this product. After a lengthy search, we found another company ("SureHands Lift & Care") that can provide a similar product for us and they gave us an estimate (Quote #526) on 3/3/2023 for $10,242.41. The Kentucky state representative conveyed that they could re-submit our grant for a change to reflect the new product (from "SureHands") with the new estimate. However, the Kentucky state representative explained that everything is on hold until the owner of "Tri-State Mobility" returns the money previously provided by the state of Kentucky via the grant. After many phone calls and visits over several weeks, THE OWNER OF "TRI-STATE MOBILITY" CONTINUES TO COME UP WITH ONE EXCUSE AFTER ANOTHER AND SO FAR HE HAS REFUSED TO RETURN THE MONEY. WE HAVE A DEADLINE OF JUNE 2023 TO HAVE THIS COMPLETED OR WE LOSE OUR GRANT!! He needs to provide the refund back to the state of Kentucky (over $4,500.00). My complaint against "Tri-State Mobility" as they have resolved the issue.
