My 15 year old Bichon was dying. I took him there to put him to sleep. I am retired with little income. I told them I did not want his ashes because of the cost. They charges me $400.00. They took full advantage of my pain. Showed no sympathy.Business response

We are sorry for the loss of your sweet ****** You were sent over to us from your primary veterinarian after they could not fit you in. We were graciously able to work you into our already overbooked schedule of established clients. Typically, we charge an urgent exam fee for these types of walk-ins, but due to the circumstances, did not. You were already very irate coming into the clinic, which is understandable, knowing that it was time to end ******* suffering.
Most of your fees came from cremation prices that we do not set. We offered for you to take ***** home for burial, which you declined. When giving you the options for private cremation vs. communal cremation, you asked us if we could just throw him in the dumpster. I’m not sure which clinic you have been to before and I understand you have never been to ours, but we simply do not throw animals in the dumpster. And you sir, should be the one ashamed for even asking us to that.
Not only are we to have compassion for you during your time of need, but our goal is to have compassion for your pet and provide the best quality medicine we can. I can assure you that inhumane and unethical euthanasia is not a part of that.

I am rejecting this response because:They provide a sheet of paper with my options one was cremation for a pet up to 25 pounds cost was 170 You charged me a total of 420.00 Where did you come up with this
I did not get his ashes but you charged for a full service

I am rejecting this response because:the document they provided to me prior to them putting my pet to sleep stated a total of 170.00 You implied that would be the total Then you decide to add the additional 120.00 **** **** charges 25.00 to put the animal to sleep ********* charges 60.00
I fully believe you saw my ***** ready to die knowing we were upset and took full advantage You knew we were not going to shop around a better price You had us as soon as you saw how upset we were
once again you are taking full advantage of a greving person
