First of all I Did not want to even give one star! Sales woman Lied! Told us one price but come to find out it’s another price! We purchased back in April 2020, been paying on it all this time , thinking this year in April it’s paid off? Well no, 23 payments left Wow! Paper has amount that the woman explained that’s all we pay for! Well I found out awhile ago the price doubles!? I’m so sick to think that we got screwed! After paying all this money! The building isn’t worth 5,6 k! As I was thinking about that day, she explained to me them buildings are always being brought back or being repossessed! Well Hell I know why! They rip you! I still have the picture of shed with the amount and guess what we have paid more !Shame on this company ! I swear I wished that we could go back, I told my husband that I think it wasn’t a good idea, but went along with him! Well we found out we got Screwed! People I would just go to Lowes and build one or have some one else to build before I would go to Backyard world! Building is Not worth time and money, especially the money! Shame on you Marsha *****, the sales woman ,you were very Dishonest with us! People I’m telling you I would take my business somewhere else! It’s not worth it!! I will tell everyone what this company has done! Cheating us! No wonder you see all kinds of their buildings just sitting!! We found out the hard way! I’m praying that I might be able to help some other family from getting Screwed!!

Hi Melissa. I apologize about the confusion. It sounds like you opted to do rent to own. We, as the shed dealer, sell build and deliver. However, we are not the rent to own company. If you read back through your paperwork and rental contract, it states the purchase price for the building to buy outright. That purchase price is the cash price. We do offer various payment plans such as financing, 12 months same as cash financing, and rental options. Your rental contract should state the exact purchase price from Backyard World as well as the monthly rental payment and the number of months to pay it off. The contract also states the percentage of your payment that goes towards the rental fee. I assume this is what you are referring to regarding paying so much more for the building. There is no equity involved for the renter. However, the rental company does offer the option to obtain ownership, should the renter meet the payoff. They also offer early purchase options if you opt to buy it, and termination options if you choose to return it, no penalty or questions asked. If you read back through your rent to own contract, there would be a required signature for all terms and conditions. Just as any other car, furniture or shed company, we offer various options. You can buy outright with cash, check or credit card, or we can set you up with financing or lease options. If you choose to make payments, interest or rentals fees are always involved. That’s how banks and rental companies make money. I apologize if the 12 months same as cash financing was not offered to you. This route does require a credit check, but if approved and paid off in full before the 12 months period, you only pay the cash price, no extra. No, BackYard & SmartPay Ripped us off!! Marsha Young (sales rep) knew that we were going to buy and keep the damn shed! She lied also,, just to make a sale!! Why pay on something and not to keep it? Just Note it down,, it’s paid off We had to pay an extra! Building was priced on paper in black n white, 2,035.00 , payments were 89.88 a month,, After all said done We paid almost $4000!! They Lie to the customers!! It’s very nice building, but it’s not worth that! I just want Buyers to know that with BackYard World and SmartPay Rentals are making a Fortune off customers!! We explained to Marsha Young that we wanted to buy just not renting! I make sure Everyday I get the word out about both of these companies and what they did to us! I think the new comers should know how they work!
