We took 4 year old Twins to this establishment for a free lesson. It turned into a completely predatory high pressure sales pitch for their costly non-cancelable 12 month contract. For 4 yr olds with no martial arts training. Then they sprung an additional equipment charge of over $400 per child after we agreed to the crazy cost. didn’t even ask us, they got the kids excited about the equipment and then just told us we had to buy it from them and no where else. We were not allowed to bring our own. They used our Children against us to make the sale. We signed because we wanted to get out if there and felt that was the only way. We felt trapped. When we got home we read the contract closer & saw the 3 day cancellation clause in writing. We did this within 2 hours of signing. The next day Rick H*** (owner I believe, he was very suspect and shifty when I asked him who owned it). He told me that they would not refund the registration fee. we were never informed what this fee covers, they had a rudimentary ********** presentation that just glossed over it. We still don’t know. He said he would refund the equipment fee, but never did. He just kept the money. He told me that it was “company policy” that the registration fee was non-cancelable, and that it was in the contract. I read the contract 4 times it does not say that. When asked about it, he refused to produce any documentation to prove “non-cancelable”, other than a screen shot from his internal inquiry form (I never saw it, he snuck it into the “free lesson” waiver) that says “Summit does not refund money”. I would like our money refunded The total paid was $727.54. The registration fee was, I believe, $394 of that. That is after we canceled within 2 hours. We disputed the CC charges but he is fighting that. We received nothing from him. He’s ignoring us after repeated attempts to solve the issue. Completely ghosting us. Off other reviews, this is not uncommon. He has the money & has provided us nothing in return.Customer response

I am trying to upload the contract but it isn’t allowing me to add the file. I’ve tried a few times. Can I email? I also have a screen shot that he sent me from, what I can only surmise is an internal document from the online liability waiver that I was forced to sign before attending the “free” lesson. He seems to have snuck a line about money into the small print of a checked box. Again, if it is free, why would that be in there? Also, I checked the box. My wife did not do the liability waiver. She never saw that. She signed all the contracts after he separated us. She had no idea. She is with me on all of this.
