Taylored Renovations finished the remodel of our basement at the end of June, and provided a final invoice, which was paid, on July 7. Up until this point we had discussions about some discrepancies on the bill, and they were not addressed prior to receiving this update. Assistance would be appreciated in closing out these items: 1) Charged $70 labor for installing door stops, but these were not outlined in any of the project materials, and there are no door stops in the basement. Additional information was requested but not supplied 2) Charged $129.22 for the installation of access panels. One access panel was installed and it costs approximately $15 from home depot, and would take around 5 minutes to install. Additional information was requested but not supplied 3) Charged $692.31, part of which included fixing nail pops that Kevin said, during a discussion prior to billing, would not be charged. Not disputing the work, he just claimed it would not be charged and he did not tell the truth. 4) Sent cleaners prior to all the work being done, and then said "it would be cleaned" when they finished. Cleaners were never sent and we had to clean everything. 5) Initial quote had money tied to inspections and permits, but no information was provided on if these costs were actually incurred 6) Mentioned to Taylored Renovations at least three times that our cabinets were not the color we expected (black) they are more of a blue black. The only time we received a response was when Kevin provided a story of how he has items in his house that he thought would be true black but weren't, implying that since it happened to him it's ok for it to happen to us. Estimated cost of painting cabinets $5,000 Refunds or billing adjustments for the totals above are requested if appropriate information can't be provided.Business response

We’re sorry that Mr. ***** disagreed with the final invoice of his project and have made multiple attempts to work with Mr. ***** to ensure that his billing is accurate and give all the details to support the final invoice.
In order to fully detail the scope of this project and this situation we have attached our response, as the character limit on this platform was not sufficient to give all the details.
In summary it is our position that Mr. *****’s project was completed as he requested and invoiced more than fairly and considerably under market pricing.

1) There are not any doorstops installed in our basement. Just saying you installed one doesn't mean you did, and if they truly did install any they should be able to clearly point to where it is installed. They can't do this, because no stops were installed 2) The same goes for the plumbing access panel. Just saying you bought two doesn't mean you installed two. There is one installed, behind where the dishwasher drain is located. Also, Taylored Renovations provided false information in the work necessary to install this access panel. They did not have to "search for studs" as he outlined, as I have a picture that shows, during installation, four holes being drilled in the backing drywall so that they would later know where the panel would go. Again Taylor Renovations lied about the work necessary for this access panel.3) All I can comment about the nail pops is ***** told me on the phone he would not charge for that work, and lied about it. This is a lie he'll have to live with 4) Taylored Renovations did minimal work in cleaning up after the basement was "deep cleaned." Here is a short list of items that were performed after the cleaning, that would have required additional cleanup: Two coats of paint, backsplash removal, floor tile removal and reinstallation, drywall mud and sanding, bathroom use by Taylored Renovations employees. No vacuuming or mopping was done to clean up after this work, and I have more pictures of the disarray they left our bathroom in.5)Taylored Renovations again fails to recall information when it is prudent for them, in regards to the cabinets. ***** was told (at the time he mentioned the upper cabinets needed to be repainted because they weren't correctly painted) and his response was "I'll look into it." Two other Taylored Renovations employees were asked to follow up on this "looking into" but no response was ever received. Taylored Renovations, per our agreement, were to deliver black cabinets and they did not do this
