In September 2021, BBB investigated One Step Ship, LLC’s business practices. This investigation was prompted by 3 scam tracker reports. Customers indicate that the business is reaching out to individuals who have posted resumes to job boards and offering them employment as a "Quality Assurance Inspector." The duties associated with the position would be to receive packages at one's home address, unpackage and discard outer identifiers, then reship the contents to another address given.
On September 3 and September 8, 2021, BBB contacted One Step Ship, LLC by calling the numbers listed on their website and contracts. BBB was sent directly to a voicemail for one number and no return call has been received. The other number forwards to an automated "special/free offer" recording for various services.
On September 3, 2021, BBB sent a standard business questionnaire (SBQ) to the business' email address on their main website. The email bounced back as a soft bounce. A second SBQ was sent to another address with no response. A followup SBQ was sent on September 8, 2021 also with no response. On September 21, 2021, mail that was sent was returned to sender as "attempted, not known, unable to forward."
On September 8, 2021, BBB contacted the property owner of the Donaldson Highway address to verify occupancy by One Step Ship, LLC. The property owner confirmed One Step Ship, LLC is not a tenant at that address and doesn't occupy any other locations at the building. nor are any of the tenants of the building occupied by One Step Ship, LLC. BBB does not know where the business is physically located. BBB urges caution when choosing whether to do business with a company whose physical location is unknown.
