Around 11/15 I got notified by the ****** App that my credit score dropped by more than 10 points on all 3 credit bureaus due to a late payment on one of my accounts. I have had a 100% on time payment history for over 5 years and always pay my debts on time. Upon further investigation I discovered that A Debt Coach, who I hired in 2018 to manage my debts misapplied my auto-drafted funds in October of 2022 and did not pay *********, one of my debtors, and ********* reported me to the credit bureaus as paying over 30 days late. I was not emailed, called, sent a letter in the mail, or notified in any way by ********* because A Debt Coach is the one hired to manage my accounts. When I called A Debt Coach, they denied it was their fault and went as far as telling me it was up to me to manage the balances on all my accounts. They told me it was all my fault that they missed the payment, and it was because I didn't update them about my accounts. I went to the fine print in the statements they sent me to prove that it says that "should the estimated balances not match your current statements from your creditors, please FEEL FREE TO UPDATE US!" It says feel free to update us, meaning they acknowledge it's on them to be on top of it!!!! They still have not gotten this resolved with *********. My credit report still has the late payment on it from their mistake! I paid my bill on time. I paid A Debt Coach. ON TIME! A Debt Coach failed to make the timely payment. And now my credit is being damaged. Also, when I initially called A Debt Coach about it, they told me that "this late payment wasn't a big deal, and it wouldn't hurt my credit that much so I shouldn't worry about it." If I were an uneducated consumer, can you imagine the kind of damage that would do to my credit in the long term? This credit counseling company should not be allowed to operate telling people that kind of thing just to cover their own mistakes. They certainly don't care about the consumer at all.

On our first call, Jason fumbled through his script but I didn't want to make any judgements. Maybe he was new or nervous or having a bad day. Jason had told me he would send all of the information over to me to review and scheduled a follow up call. Well, I read what was sent to me and it ended up being a contract that needed to be signed. Now, maybe A Debt Coach thinks that this is classified as information, but I do not. I was expecting an email with details of the conversation, not a contract to sign. Let's move on to the follow up call. I had decided that I wanted to do more research as I didn't love the vibe from the first phone call and thought that I needed to look into more companies and how the process works in general. Now I could have just ignored his call and ghosted him, but I know he is just an employee trying to collect a paycheck and I myself work in customer service and understand that people can be rude and mean so I wanted to just decline his offer respectfully. So when Jason asked me if I had time to review the paperwork, I told him I did but that I would prefer to not move forward at this time. To which he responded "well wait what happened?" Well nothing happened Jason, I scheduled an appointment to get information, I got it, and now I would like to move on. But instead of allowing me to tell him that, I was interrupted by Jason asked me "what is really going on here, no tell me what is actually going on, what other options do you have". I have nothing to owe Jason or this company as I did not agree to anything other than getting information, so I disconnected the call. If the interaction ended there, I may not be writing this review. However, Jason decided to then proceed to text me a sarcastic statement. Jason M******* Senior Debt Consultant - I am utterly disgusted at the clear attempt to prey on someone looking for relief on a huge thing in their life by attempting to tell them that they have no other options.
