    RBS was hired to remove and install a new sump pump system in a home on November 28. *** had said that he was a master plumber and had been doing it for years. He said that he could have the project done in about an hour since it was a total rip out and replace. On the day of the job, he showed up 45 minutes late. He and his assistant looked to be about done, and I had somewhere to be so I paid him the agreed upon sum of $1100, with a tip for his willingness to take the job short notice and said I'd be back in an hour to check out the finished product. I returned and got a call that the job had not been completed, there was an issue with the primary pump and he needed to come back the next day to finish it up. The next day he spent 2 hours with it and still couldn't get it to work correctly and would need to come back on day 3. On day 3, he was not there, but some of his employees were there and they resolved that the pump itself was broken and would need replaced, they didn't have replacement parts with them. *** admitted that it had sucked up some gravel and that it was his fault it wasn't working. On day 4, again, *** was not present and his crew attempted to replace the primary pump with an inferior pump that wasn't a like for like replacement. On the surface the job looked complete, but it was very sloppy. After his crew left, piping disconnected and sprayed water in the basement. His employees again returned and worked until they said the job was done. Something was clearly not working correctly as water in the pit was not being removed correctly, the backup pump was working near constantly as well. I called *** and sent multiple videos of the backup pump running regularly, and the primary pump not functioning. I was told that 'his people said it was working when they left' and then he stopped responding to me. He blocked my number and refused my text messages. I was forced to call another contractor to completely redo the entire job at a cost of $3200.
