I hired this contractor to do a remodel/addition. Includes: adding cathedral ceilings in living/dining area which included an addition to the roof in front and back; adding a loft area over dining room, new windows, doors, and a kitchen remodel: granite counters, butcher block island, new sink, adding tile backsplash throughout kitchen, painting existing cabinets/drawers. We signed $122,000 contract in 11/21 and have paid $118k so far. Work began 12/4/21 and was supposed to be 3 month job depending on weather, materials, and staff. Currently the job might be about 40% complete. Since starting he may work 2-3 days a week. Often skips an entire week and rarely has worked a full week. He added two roof additions. One in front and one in back and have had consistent roof leaks since. This has created so much damage to the drywall that was to remain untouched in the remodel. The water has caused damage to master bath ceiling and wall, the ceiling over the dining area and kitchen were supposed to remain up, and some of the walls in the living/dining area. All of this drywall now has to come down. We keep asking him to fix the roof, but has not. The home has been open to the elements and critters. We keep asking him to close it up, as we have had birds get in and feral cats are coming in and spraying the walls. It smells like cat urine throughout the house. We have supply items that they say have been ordered, but have yet to be delivered and I have been unable to get any proof of purchase from them. Items not yet received: composite decking, rails for deck, fireplace insert, rock for fireplace and front of home. They painted 3 entry doors and kitchen cabinets. All were returned with horrible paint jobs and were still somewhat wet, so paint scratched off easily. Plus, did not deliver paint job on cabinets that was agreed upon and one drawer is still missing. Will not take/return my calls or texts. I try to discuss finances and materials but never has answers for me.
