I took my **** **** ******, to Greater Louisville Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for his wisdom teeth removal with Dr ******. After the consultation appointment on Jan. 4, 2022, I was given an estimate for my out of pocket expense. I tried to explain that the estimate seemed to be high, since our insurance, ****** Healthcare, covers the procedure at 80%. The office employee stated that it was just a rough estimate, and they would not know my exact cost until after they submit the claim to my insurance. On March 4, 2022, the day of my ***** surgery, I was told to pay the same amount I was given at the consultation visit. I paid the amount of $301. When I called my insurance, they confirmed that my plan covers the procedure at 80% and stated my portion would be $148.40. My insurance rep confirmed I was overcharged. I called Greater Louisville Oral on May 31, 2022 and spoke with **** *** about my ***** account. She stated that my plan did not cover one of the exams, so that caused my account to be effected. I informed her that our plan covers exams. She stated she would call my insurance and "look into it". She called me back and left a voicemail the same day, confirming that our insurance did pay for the exam; and she would issue me a refund in about 1-2 weeks. I did not receive a check or any calls from their office the whole month of June, so I called multiple times in July trying to get the issue resolved. I would get the same answer every time I called their office, that "they were still working on it" and that they were short staffed. I called today, Aug 1, 2022, and was told the manager was busy. I have called repeatedly to their office. It's been about 5 months since my ***** procedure was completed. The office refuses to give me a direct answer, refuses to issue me a refund, and I cannot get a hold of their office manager.
