Superior Concrete and Hardscape Design/Justin H****** was hired to build a retaining wall, install a new driveway between a detached garage and existing driveway and expand the existing driveway to 3 lanes. We had a tight timeline to get this done between September and October 2022. He required a 10% deposit just to get on the schedule. Justin and crew began construction on the retaining wall the first day and left after only being here a couple of hours. They arrived the next day and requested the first half of the payment in order to accommodate our tight timeline, after receiving the check, they disappeared for over a week. During that time, I left voicemails, sent emails and ******** messages. A week later, he replied to one of my emails saying he had a family emergency with his son and he had issues with his cell phone, but assured me he was getting a replacement phone the next day. We had about a week and a half to complete the project and the wall was 1/4 of the way complete, no driveway prep. Justin said it would not be a problem to complete construction, that he would have additional manpower and work weekends to get the job completed. A few more days went by, the wall was roughly 90% complete and forms were starting to get set. I noticed that the wall had a curve in it and in several areas, it was missing the bottom row, the blocks were completely exposed and dirt/gravel was loose under the block. When I confronted Justin, he said he needed to get additional supplies to finish the wall and would return. He left tools, forms and equipment in my yard. A few days later he returned for his tools and said that since he missed the deadline, it was too late to pour concrete. I asked for a refund, he said NO and promised to be back in the spring to complete the job. I have tried to contact him since February 2023, it is now April 2023 and he hasn't responded. I am out $16,000 and I basically have to start from scratch. Please don't give this company your money!
