I hired this company to install countertops in my kitchen. They messed up several time throughout and installed correctly. They are not wanting payment. I have pointed out their mistakes and told them to redo it.Business response

In August 2023 ** ****** had an installation carried out by us. He was not satisfied stating that we had installed incorrectly. This is not in fact the case as his kitchen cabinets are not correct and cause an ever so slight difference in the overhang. He has a beautiful kitchen installation and he refuses to pay the balance of the installation.
The owner of Granite Depot went personally to see the installation after customer's refusal to pay. He and Hunter Porter came to an agreement that Granite Depot would provide $500 credit due to his dissatisfaction but we could not do any more as there was nothing wrong with the installation. The $500 was issued in good faith. After we applied the credit memo, ** ****** then continued to refuse to pay.
Finally, Granite Depot filed a mechanic's lien on his property and sent the matter to our collections agency. Our collections agency communicated with ** ****** who made an offer to pay $400 of the remaining balance $1160 balance. This offer was rejected as he had already been given $500 credit in good faith and that he would pay the balance at that time.
In our opinion, this is merely a retaliatory action on the part of ** ****** who has a beautiful kitchen installation that he simply does not wish to pay the balance on.
