Wildkat Van lines contracted Big Blue and Bull moving. to load and unload my cross country move. Big Blue miscalculated my move by almost double as they stated that everything would fit on a 26th truck(Wildkat) and i ended up needing a 26ft and a 15ft truck. I had to spend $3k more to rent a 15ft truck with a car tow at the last minute, making me not present when the 26ft was completely loaded and left. I also was not present when the truck was unloaded by Bull Moving who was 2 hours late. I didnt get to leave until the morning of July 19th. I was supposed to leave on July 17th. I had to wait for the car tow which was not available until after 4pm on July 18th from U-haul. Long story short I spent an extra $3k, had damaged box spring and shattered glass shield for fireplace and a stolen 1977 Star Wars Standee mint in the box. Wildkat reimbursed nothing, I got $60 from Big Blue and am waiting on a final reimbursement from Bull Moving. Remember Wildkat contracted out both movers.

We used Wildcat for a move from Atlanta to Florida. It was a nightmare. They sent a truck that was way too small for our move, despite knowing our square footage and being given a tally of everything in our house. This is apparently a tactic some companies use to quote you a lower price. Once the truck is loaded, you basically have little choice but to pay for another truck. The practice has gotten other moving companies in trouble. Anyway, Wildcat said they couldn’t get another truck until the next day. Well, someone else was moving into our home and we couldn’t delay. So we paid the guys loading our truck to get another truck and drive to Florida. The entire move cost us $7K. When you sign the Wildcat agreement, it says they’re insured for up to $100K in catastrophic coverage. That sounded good, because we had just remodeled our house and had bought all new furniture, from Ballard Designs, Ethan Allen and Pottery Barn — and it totaled about $40K. Well, the driver of the first truck got into an accident in Alabama. The police report showed it was in the left lane and clipped another big truck as it passed and veered back to the right. The police report assigned no blame despite this, and both trucks ended up in a culvert. Almost all of our new belongings, only months old — so new they were still available on the stores’ websites — were either damaged or destroyed. If you look closely at the agreement, you’re only insured $3 per lb. That meant we got a check for just over $6000. They didn't even reimburse us the money for the move. In effect, Wildcat loaded our belongings onto their truck, broke them, and were then paid for the honor. It’s akin to Delta charging you airfare and luggage fees after crashing the plane. If someone had entrusted us with all of their valuables, we would be bending over backwards to apologize and make things right. That wasn’t the case here. In our opinion, if you’re looking for an ethical, reputable company, look elsewhere.

    Wildcat Van Lines Response

Part of the privilege of operating a successful company of any kind is fending off misleading attacks from the public, such as this one. Mr. O*** claims the ethical high ground on this matter, however he fails to acknowledge several key details that would portray Wildcat's efforts in more estimable light. For instance, after the accident Wildcat paid thousands of dollars to another moving company to deliver his items from Alabama to Florida on the same day of the scheduled delivery. I think that's worth repeating: Wildcat ensured Mr. O***** items were delivered to his new home on the original delivery date, even under the circumstances. Mr. O*** attempted to chargeback the cost of his move with his credit card company Discover. During the chargeback review Discover's own arbiter determined that Wildcat acted in accordance with the contract and was owed the balance under dispute. Even Mr. O***** credit card company sided with Wildcat. He buried this fact in his field of distortion. Finally, Wildcat did indeed offer to help Mr. O*** with the costs of a rental truck, but was rebuffed. Wildcat's overture was ultimately a courtesy because after speaking with the manager who scheduled the relocation, Mr. O*** requested the 26' box truck versus the 53' tractor-trailer. Wildcat went above and beyond to complete the relocation it set out to do. Moreover, it met its obligations for the damaged items under the terms of the agreement. We understand Mr. O***** frustration, however, we won't let the company's good name be defaced, especially by such dishonest means.
