On July 21, 2021, we procured an estimate from Big League Roofers for gutter replacement and roofing, the total eventually amounted to $39,707. This was significantly more than the original $32,241 quote. Beyond this unexpected expense, the situation has further deteriorated due to serious issues that have been left unaddressed by Big League Roofers: 1. Our new roof, installed in December 2021, began leaking by May 2022, necessitating a complete roof replacement. The root cause was identified as improper insulation by Big League Roofers. 2. Despite being under warranty, the newly installed gutters began leaking in March 2023, causing damage to our feed room ceiling. Despite repeated attempts to contact the company and arrange repairs, our concerns have been largely dismissed. Our recent inspection reveals potential mold and mildew issues in the ceiling due to this unresolved leak. When reaching out to Big League Roofers regarding these warranty-covered issues, their responses have been defensive, often attempting to deflect blame or responsibility. No solutions or commitment to repairs have been provided. The absence of response from Big League Roofers and their refusal to honor a warranty has put us in a critical situation where damages may escalate, leading to more financial strain on our end. 1. We were initially quoted $32,241 for the project but have already spent $61,689.50 on the project in its entirety. 2. The issues we faced were caused by the very solutions Big League Roofers provided. 3. The company has refused to honor their warranty and rectify the damages caused by their own faulty work. We urgently request the Better Business Bureau's assistance in resolving this matter and ensuring we don't incur further expenses on a project for which we've already paid significantly. We also hope this serves as a warning to potential customers about the pitfalls of engaging with a company that does not stand by its work. Requesting repair or refund of $6,361.81.

In Oct. of 2021, *** ****** (Business Owner) contacted BLR and requested an estimate for a metal roof to be removed and replaced with a shingle roof. At time of installation, it was discovered that spray foam was directly applied to existing panels. BLR went above and beyond to clean up the fallen debris/spray foam during tear-off and while the dog kennels were occupied.
To properly perform the work requested by Business Owner, all insulation was removed due to removal of the existing roof, leaving the kennel space uninsulated on the underside of the decking.  Business Owner demanded BLR install insulation in the kennel. At the full expense of BLR, insulation was installed at a cost of $7,000 to BLR.
A few months later, BLR was contacted by Business Owner requesting an inspection of the roof. She informed us she would like the roof and insulation restored to its pre-existing condition as of Oct. 2021.
This led to a verbal contract between Business Owner and BLR that would cover the cost of the metal roof and Business Owner would cover the cost of the spray-foam. When BLR estimates metal roof replacements, it is typically 2-3 times the cost of a standard shingle/asphalt roof.  Business Owner did not agree to pay the difference in cost and demanded BLR to cover the cost of the roof to avoid legal action.
At the end of this discussion, both parties agreed after the work was completed, they would part ways with no future communication. Warranties were to be handled by a third-party hired by Business Owner due to the agreement to cease communication between Business Owner and BLR.
This is the largest loss in the history of BLR and BLR paid to re-roof a property BLR does not own. With this stated, we do not feel obligated to offer any warranty past 30 days of the last date on-site.
We also do not understand why a formal complaint was filed with the BBB. At this impasse, BLR would like all BBB complaints to be removed/resolved.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting the response from Big League Roofers (BLR) for the following reasons, supported by our email exchanges:

No Agreement to Void Warranty: BLR claims we agreed to part ways with no future communication or warranty obligations. Our discussions focused on resolving specific roofing issues. There was no consent verbal or written given to void any warranties.

Discrepancies in Cost and Service: BLR's statement about the insulation cost being $7,000 contradicts their earlier email stating, “It was around $3,500.00." The cost of insulation materials that were passed onto us.  They also ensured the insulation would be no issue and never mentioned it would add additional cost, "Please see our attached estimate. Page 1 includes the roof. Page 2 has the gutters. With the current cost of lumber it would be more economical to tear off the metal roof and install shingles. We could install more insulation in the attic if you are concerned about insulation. Please let me know if you have any questions.”" This raises questions about their overall transparency.

Unresolved Gutter Issues: We paid $6,361.81 for gutters that are now leaking, causing water damage. Despite repeated attempts to have BLR address this under warranty, we've received inadequate responses.

Financial Burden: Our business has incurred significant expenses due to BLR's work, totaling $61,689.50, exceeding the initial quote of $32,241. The reluctance of BLR to address the issues with the gutters exacerbates our financial strain.

Ignoring Warranty Obligations: BLR's suggestion that gutter issues might be due to clogging is an attempt to deflect from their warranty responsibilities. Regular maintenance has been performed, ruling out clogging as a cause.

In light of these points, BLR's response is unsatisfactory and fails to address our legitimate concerns and the warranty obligations.

      Sincerely,

      ********* ******

If I could give them negative stars I would. We had roof damage on March 3, 2023 and they came out and did a temporary fix on our roof. They took a check for $750 which "was just a deposit they hold on to and not the actual cost of the temporary work and they would not cash until we began the actual repairs through insurance". Well, of course the check is cashed and we cannot get them to even finish the quote for the actual repair. On May 23, 2023, after months of emails, calls, our claims adjuster trying to help, two different sales reps, I was told the owner ***** would call me by the end of the day- no surprise- that didn't happen, but we finally got a quote for the exterior damage that day, over two months since the original damage. We asked them for the interior quote as well as the adjuster still needed both, as we had discussed since March 3rd. The rep said to give him some time to work on it. On June 7, 2023, I followed up in an email explaining we were now OVER THREE MONTHS from the original damage and wanted to get this submitted. Of course there was no response in the email. Today is now June 15, 2023 and I have called the office multiple times and they will not answer. We have the original invoice that was done for the temporary work stating a tarp was placed on our roof, which a tarp was not placed. They charged $750 for work they didn't do and told us the check would not be cashed and now we cannot get them to do anything. Stay away from this fraudulent, crooked company.
