We took our dog to this emergency vet on 5/8 because he wasn’t wanting to eat and was straining to use the bathroom and only a little diarrhea was coming out. They took his temperature under his leg which is not an accurate reading. Then they took him out of the examination room we were in to examine him somewhere else. They said his temperature is normal and he had no swelling and everything felt fine. So he was giving a couple of shots for nausea and diarrhea and also medicine to take home for the same thing and a probiotic. They kept suggesting to do a scan and blood work for $1000.00 . We declined and the bill was $422.40. Which would of been fine if they actually would of done a physical exam like they said they did. I think they just done a visual exam. They said if he’s not getting better in 12 to 24 hours come back. He was getting worse so we took him another veterinarian the next day we have used before. They done an exam and his temperature was 104 and within 5 minutes of the physical exam the vet discovered he had a large mass in his colon and poking out his side. That’s why he couldn’t use the bathroom. So there’s no way bluegrass emergency veterinary done a physical exam. We could feel the mass on his side and the veterinarian said he couldn’t put his finger in his rectum all the way because of the mass was blocking it. I would like a full refund for a poor exam and medicine he didn’t need.
