this guy is the most unprofessional person i have ever dealt with... i am sure he will try to dispute me. i have all emails and I am currenly pursuing legal, action and also action with the police. 1) at closing he tried to cheat me out of 10000. dollars .. i caught it and he had to bring the 10000 to the closing table. because he did not keep good records he did not notice that i paid for lighting at B******** ********* with a check... the entire procedure was very confusing and loosey goosey. some things he would ask me to pay for out of pocket, others went towards the overall price he was charging. in this case i paid it and he also charged. when i caught him, he had to pay me back at clsing table. He acted like it was just a mistake. my legal counsel will be going over all costs and reciepts line by line 2) overall there were issues throughout the build and communications were very poor. this was a custom built home, and we had never built our own home before. so he took full advantage... 3) this was a million dollar home. the basement is a finished walkout. the cement going to the exit was not level and warped. there is a huge hump in the middle of the door threshold due to cement under the floor. he did not try for a resolution or to make it right. he just said it is fine. 4) lastly he has attacked me verbally and threatened me saying " be carefull, one of these days you are going to say something to the wrong person" leading me to believe that somebody, maybe him, will harm me... i was floored when he said this via text i had to tell him numerous times not to contact me.... i have all of the emails/ texts / videos of defects.... i am currently turning all of this to the police and my attorney... very unprofessional and does not stand by his work... i can tell anybody that asks or calls me

In response to the buyer’s complaint, I’m sorry he feels this way, but there are many misstatements in this complaint. To say I tried to cheat him out of $10,000 is nothing short of slander and defamation, and is simply not true. At closing, I cut him a check for $10,372.54 because when we signed the contract, lumber was so expensive, I made it an allowance, so he would only pay my cost. He also knew about the credit ahead of time, I don’t know why he states that he caught a mistake, that is an outright lie. The lumber prices dropped substantially by the time we finished the house, and I gave him credit for it, along with some other credits. A dishonest builder would have kept the money, but I gave it back to him, to honor the contract. The buyer’s house was out of warranty because he never turned in the paperwork until almost 2 months after the warranty expired. Even though his warranty was expired, we completed the repairs that were covered by the warranty, drywall and paint touch-ups, some other items and even replaced a furnace filter that it appears he never changed after living in the house almost 14 months. There is no completely level basement floor, and the warranty requires the floor to be no more than 3/8 inches out of level in a 32-inch span. When I measured the basement floor it was about half that, or about 3/16 of an inch in a 32-inch span in one small area. We put a piece of shoe mold by the basement door so you would not see any difference in the floor level, and he removed it for some reason. The buyer’s basement floor is well within the specifications of the warranty. The other items he requested that we correct are not covered by the warranty, even if he had a warranty that had not expired. The buyer’s house didn’t cost a million dollars, the cost was actually $874,756.52, or $125,243.48 less than that. To state that I threatened the buyer is ridiculous drama in an attempt to lash out and bully me because he didn’t get his way, and I don’t think he’s used to people standing up to him. I am almost 65 years old with a broken foot and am half his size. I told him I don’t threaten anyone, I was trying to help him because of his tone and the personal attacks he levied against me and other people. I have been told by many people, even outside the building industry, that know him, that he is a bully and has a terrible temper. Some of my suppliers and subcontractors experienced this with him, and didn’t want to do business with him. I only wish this buyer the best and hope that he learns to control his temper, to have patience with people and not try to bully them to get what he wants. I completed everything required of the warranty, even though it was expired, and honored my contract with him, and I have all the written proof to attest to that fact.
