I paid $20,000 for *** ***** to attend rehab at Landmark Recovery beginning Oct. 1, 2023 for 35 days. On Oct. 5, 2023, Landmark sent *** to the ER and he was unable to return to Landmark. He was only there 5 days. When I paid the $20,000 they did not communicate their refund policy and if you look at their website online it only says that "for self-pay patients, refunds will be issued at the "rack rate' established by the facility fee schedule." There is no facility fee schedule available online. *** was taken to the ER because he was gravely ill and received improper medical care while at Landmark Recovery (he did not see a doctor in person and only saw a nurse for the first time on Oct. 5th when they then sent him immediately to the ER). *** has remained gravely ill and is sober so he has no need to return to their facility. They have refused to refund a pro rata portion of the $20,000 (30/35s of $20,000). They said that there is a fee schedule posted in the "lobby" of the facility - however, it was not available at the time that I committed to the purchase over the phone (we were not at the facility and they made no mention to me that the refund, if needed would be based on a fee schedule posted in the facility lobby. I have written to them requesting a refund and they have refused to issue a refund. It is nearly criminal that they take advantage of someone when their loved one is so seriously ill. I respectfully ask for your help in receiving an appropriate pro rata refund (30/35s of $20,000).
