      I fell in love with this restaurant my first time going about 5 years ago, food is always excellent and service was wonderful........UNTIL recently!! I have to say the food is still excellent but the service, well, less than wonderful. It's actually extremely disappointing, especially when you have loved going to a place that you have once enjoyed going to. The last few times has me questioning if I want to go back and try again. I feel like I'm setting myself up to be disappointed all over again. The service, for "us" and I mean a person of color was very poor, I actually had to say something because it was that bad. I would hope that it's not how they want to be reviewed especially being that my family and I really enjoyed going at one time. When you find a restaurant you enjoy but service is less than par it just makes you not even want to go back.

      Evonne, Thank you for your comments. The fact that you think your service was poor because you are a person of color is very disturbing. As the owner, I embrace all cultures and ethnicities, in fact, 4 out of 5 of my managers/chefs are African American or from minority cultures. I sincerely apologize for any poor service. We are extremely short-staffed which may have contributed to any failings on our part. Your business is very important to us.       Thank you for your response and I certainly appreciate it, however I'm not sure what you find disturbing about what we experienced. Is it disturbing that I'm saying it and you don't want to believe it?? Is that what is disturbing to you? I'm curious on what your are calling disturbing, I'd love to know! The service we received, now that's disturbing. Maybe you as the manager might not have an issue with different cultures and ethnicities but however your staff might have different views. No one on this earth wants to dine out and experience that type of issue or think they are going to experience racism but unfortunately it happens everyday. I'm not saying every bad experience has been based on the color of our skin but again this has happened the last few times we've been there. This wasn't the first time, I'm just now writing about this because of how many time this has happened. If you want to call our experiencing disturbing then yes because it was disturbing sir!! I've had other family members also experience the same, I have grown children that have dined there on other occasions with friends and they have said the same, maybe you might not be aware of it. Maybe because you aren't experiencing it but I do hope that you can actually listen to a customer and "their" experience and maybe use it as a way of teaching staff on how to treat customers of all races.

      Ordered carry out. Asked for gluten free pasta on the Pasta Rosa— got home and found no sauce of any kind on the pasta, a few mushrooms and tough slices of chicken— all for 18$. Husband got chicken carbonara which also had tough chicken slices. House salads were good. Very disappointed. Usual dinner used to be enjoyable, especially dine in. Will not get carry out again.

      HORRIBLE service… and the cleanliness of the restaurant was shockingly awful. My chair and table was covered in sticky mess when sitting- so much so, we had to ask for replacement. We waited over 2 hours to receive our food after ordering, with children with us. We complained to management and then had the manager actually admit HE ADDED MONEY TO OUR BILL- beyond what should have been charged- just because we complained. The server accidentally left the original bill with the increased version. When asking the manager about it- he yanked the original receipt from my hand and spelled his name (Moe *******) for me to make a complaint and told me he could care less about my opinion about it because he “was management and made the decisions”. I have never been treated so horribly- and illegally - while just trying to have dinner for my husband’s birthday- in my life. I actually left in tears and physically feel sick

      I am the owner. Thank you for your comments but it would be much more prudent to have done so with a level head rather than is spite, with the intention of damaging a locally owned restaurant. Before receiving your 'review' and before I had spoken to the manager involved, I received a phone call from a table next to yours that completely defended my manager and were appalled by your husband's behavior and that you had the audacity to go around other tables bad mouthing their favorite restaurant. They told me that when the manager brought the checkbook to your table, your husband threw it across the table without even looking at it. The manager, as is our custom, brought it personally to further apologize and explain how he had discounted your check, but when he wasn't given the opportunity to do so, he decided to reverse the discount. He never, as you falsely claim, added extra charges. These are extremely hard times for restaurants, especially with the labor shortage and sometimes mistakes happen. We will always strive to make things right if you allow us. When you manage your anger, we will manage your issue. There is enough division in society today and we do not want to be a part of that. I would like to make things right with you if you would allow us. Please ask for Jim if this is something you are interested in.
