    We hired Payne to renovate our bathroom. On Tuesday, April 12, 2022 (day 2 of reno) Mr. Payne forgot to turn the water back on before finishing for the day. When we realized the water wasn't cut on, we called him & asked if they had forgotten to cut the water back on because we didn't want to turn it back on if they had intentionally kept it off for some reason. On the phone he stated "I'm pretty sure we turned it back on", although it was obviously still off. So he then told us to just turn it back on (which is something we shouldn't have had to do). On the morning of Wednesday, April 13, 2022, Payne reached out to us to tell us that he wouldn't be working that day because of the rain. Apparently he doesn't work when it rains, & this is something that we did not know prior to him starting this job & contract signing. When we arrived at home around 5pm that day, we found that the water had been running constantly since the day before when we had to turn the water back on because they forgot to turn the bathtub spigot completely off before they left. This left our brand new tub flooded & the water ran down into our basement flooding our basement, affecting electrical work in four of our rooms, & causing part of the ceiling tile to cave in & fall out due to water damage. After notifying Payne, he showed up empty handed. No fans, no de-humidifier, etc. He attempted to fix the issue but did not know how to turn the water off. We sent him home because there was a tornado watch and he was getting nowhere & we had to make plans to go elsewhere since we didn't have bathrooms. We no longer want to do business with him because he wants to still charge the full amount & we no longer trust that he knows what he's doing. We simply want a voided contract & receipts for materials purchased but he's dragging his feet at this point.
