My ******** was taken to the hospital in June of 2023 by a third party. Hospital contacted me for confirmation, permission to treat and payment. I gave all information needed and paid something at that time. I never received a bill from hospital indicating that an amount was owed until late april 2024. I had someone claiming to be from the hospital call in december 2023 and again a couple months after that and again in april. I was very concerned that they were someone trying to scam me due to having no knowlege of a bill to that entity. I would not give them any personal information without first receiving a bill. All 3 phone calls I requested a bill so I could confirm I was not being scammed. As I stated to the individuals when I receive a bill I would call. I received my 1st bill late april with statement date of 4/24/24. I called the following day to request information about the bill I just received for 1st time. Only to find out that I have been turned over for collections and they cannot help. All I want is the same treatment from this facility that they would give anyone upon receiving their 1st bill from them. The supervisor from the billing dept stated herself to me that all the bills they had previously mailed to me had been returned to them due to them not having correct postal code for the city I live. That info was corrected in April 2024. I do not feel that is My fault. And I requested for them to help resolve the situation and they refuse. I was told i can only deal with collection agency. I feel that i have been treated unfair.Business response

We employ a third company for billing collections; consequently, I was unaware of any issues until contacted by the BBB. On June 3, 2024, I called *** ******* and discussed the claim and his concerns. We pulled back the claim from the third party and gave a 50% discount on the remaining balance, which he paid over the phone. He was incredibly pleasant to speak with, and I believe all concerns were addressed and resolved.
