We ordered an engine from Morehead Auto and Truck sales. *****, the owner, indicated we could ship the core back to him or he could provide an alternate location that might be cheaper on shipping. When we contacted him to send the engine core back, he said he had closed the ticket out and he wouldn't take it back. I have attempted to contact ***** via phone, ************, and via ******** *********, but he hasn't responded. A core charge is added so the customer will return the old one. If ***** had no intention of paying the core charge back, $1000, then he shouldn't have charged for one. All we want is to be able to return the core and get the money back as we were told when we purchased it.Business response

To whom it may concern,
Mr. ****** appears to be the Manager of the ******* **** ***** store ****, in Albany Georgia that Purchased an engine from us and then resold it to their customer. We did not have any contact with Mr. ****** or any other employee of his store until 3 months after the delivery of the engine to their customer. We follow the market standard for our type of business, “ Used medium Truck and Light Truck Parts. Which is currently 30 days for a core to be returned. We get bids for cores from buyers and at the time of the sale we had a price for $1000 locked in for 30 days because of the peak summer demand for medium duty truck engines in July. We would have honored a core return at the reduced market value for up to 45 days. The failure of communications was between ******* **** ***** and their customer and has nothing to do with us. ******* **** ***** is a 9.4 billion dollar Company which sells on average $25,753,000. Per day in parts with a large portion of those sales requiring a upfront core charge. They are aware of the standards in the core market charges and market standards. The order had been closed more than 60 days when we were first contacted about a core return. The market price at that time when they first contacted us was less than $300 because of the lack of demand for that particular style and brand of the engine core. As a small business we simply cannot take a $700 loss due to someone else’s negligence. I’m sure Mr. ******’s customer had the engine, installed and running within a few days of receiving it. If we had been contacted, we may have extended the return time by possible a week or two, at the current market value which would have been well below the price we had at the time of sale. With any used or new engine there is a core charge, the warranty and core period begins when you receive it. We’re sorry that Mr. ****** is in this situation, but it is because of the timetable, which apparently the ******* ****** ***** associate did not clearly state or even try an enforce with Their Customer. We checked with dozens of other salvage yards and they all have a core return period of 14-45 days because we all are at the mercy of the core demand market and the pricing fluctuations in it.
