On 6/7/22, we rented a ***** to move our son to Washington, DC. When checking out, I noticed the total charge was for $701.72. I told the associate (*****) that the total was incorrect. She said this was worst case scenario if we kept the truck the entire time. I explained that we only wanted the truck until the 6/9 but the paper work showed 6/11. She said it was ok because if we turned it in on the 9th, we would only be charged for the used time and mileage. She went on to explain that mileage charge was different based on the day of the week so our total would be adjusted for that too. Upon arriving home, we received a text alert from our bank indicating a transaction from Sams Stor All for $701.72. I called ***** & she said that was ok that it was like hotels & gas stations; they would hold the full amount incase we used it but we would only be charged for the actual usage. I asked if I should just come get the paper work adjusted and she reiterated it was not necessary. We just got our **** bill and the full amount is still reflected. ** ******* went to the merchant (Sams Stor All) today, 6/22 and ***** was present. She said she would not refund the money and that *** **** must have misunderstood. I confirmed several times in person plus called her to confirm again; I did not misunderstand. If there are cameras in the office, they can view them and see me pointing to the paperwork and questioning. In addition, I have my call log from ***** The call took place on 6/7 at 4:30 and lasted 6 min. If they record calls, they can listen to the incoming call using the date and time l provided. Just for context - ***** gave us options for drop-off in Maryland. I said that could not be correct; it would be a 3 hour drive! She said that is all the system offered so she would leave it blank and for me to call the drop off dept if I found a closer place. This is another example of inaccurate info being provided. There was one within 7 miles.
