I bought a Kia Niro Touring in october of 2023. in december. the car begain to smoke and and the engine light came on. i took it to Rod hatfield used car factory in nicholasville. was told they can't work on it due to it being a hybrid and high voltage. i was advised to take it to kia. the antifreeze/coolant was empty. i requested they fill it. i took it to cartown kia in nicholasville and as advised they couldn't get to it for, i beleive it was a month out. i took it to meineke. they said it was a heat exchange. costing about 4k to repair. the warranty i was sold covers the hybrid system but not that part too the hybrid system. i did take it for a 2nd opinion. they diagnosed it wish a blown head gasket. the warranty they sold me will not cover any of these issues. upon investigating. i when i was sold the warranty, i was told if i broke down to have it towed to rod hatfield used car factory and not to have it towed to kia. when i looked at my warranty. and rod hatfield knew i am a rideshare driver and failed to advise me that my coverage of warranty would be void according to contract wording. that warranty was put on my monthly payments. that warranty cost is $2500. so i was sold knowingly by rod hatfield used car factory that this warranty was basically void at time of purchase. and now i have an 18k note on a car that i can't get fixed.

We purchased a 2016 F-150 from Rod Hatfields on 9/14/23. They were replacing the alternator so I was unable to test drive the vehicle. I had asked if there were any known issues. They said there was not. We completed purchase paperwork and I left with the truck. Upon leaving I heard noise from the sunroof. I returned to the dealership and asked them about it and they stated there were parts on order to fix the sunroof. They said it would be about 3 weeks. It has now been 3 weeks. I called to follow up and have been unable to speak to the General Manager. I was then told that it would be months before the parts came in which is unacceptable. I was told he would call me back within 30 minutes. 3 hours go by and no call back. I called again and was told he was busy. This is unacceptable customer service. Not informing me of the known issue prior to purchase and not answering calls or trying to rectify this issue in a timely manner is not good customer service and an unacceptable way to run a business. I am very displeased at this point. I just want the sunroof fixed like they said they would do in a timely manner (which should have already happened).

      In regard to **** *****

Rod Hatfield Used Care Factory is in the process of repairing the sunroof. Prior to Mr. ***** purchasing the F-150 we took the truck to a third-party repair facility due to the electronics on the truck. The repair facility said it will take a few months to get the sunroof fixed due shortage of parts. We informed Mr. ***** prior to purchasing the truck that it's going to be a few months before it will be repaired.

Since Mr. ***** submitted this complaint, he has brought the truck to Rod Hatfield service department, and we are going to send it somewhere else or fix it in house.

I have spoken to ****, and we are both in agreement.

      Thanks

On October 9th of 2022, I took delivery of a 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX, that was shipped from Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory in Lexington Kentucky. The car was sold to me in agreement that it was in "immaculate" condition, had very light modification, and "there are no ECU flashes on the car whatsoever." -- I purchased an extended warranty for this vehicle for 5 years under the premise that there would be no ECU tuning, and the vehicle would be covered for any mechanical failures. I spoke with Mike and John, and they made it very clear to me via text messages and phone calls that it would be covered by the warranty, and if something wasn't, or anything went wrong within 60 days, they would "take care of it for me." Sometime about two weeks ago I went and got the vehicle inspected at an independent shop, who notated that the car had heavy modification's to the fuel system, as well as an ECU flash, meaning that the shop, as well as any dealer around could not cover any mechanical failure on the vehicle, and that my warranty was essentially useless. I submitted paperwork three weeks ago to get the warranty refunded as per the contract terms. Not only have I had no contact about said warranty but I still have not received money back on the principal of the vehicle loan. On November 8th, after filling up the car at a gas station, the car developed a serious motor knock. I have spoken with several professionals, and they are all in agreement that the car needs an entire new shortblock, as well as oiling system. A certified mechanic is quoting $5,500 for repair. When I reached out to the dealership, they redirected me to service who told me they couldn't help me, and I would need to reach out to sales. Sales and their management team have given me the run around and will not help me despite what they said. They sold me a warranty that I can not use, sold me the vehicle as "non-tuned" and refuse to assist me in any way. I am taking legal action, seeking money for repairs.

I bought a 2018 **** ****** ** on 12/10/2021 on that night when I drove it home I felt it shaking, jumping, and taking awhile to get into gear. As soon as I felt it I called my sales person ****** ***** and informed her of what I felt she told me to call back the next day so they can figure out what to do. The next day I called and was given the run around. I have called at lease once a week maybe even twice to see what can be done about the car. Now almost 90 days of having the car nothing has been done and the car is currently sitting in front of my house needing a new transmission. I don't have $4500 to fix it and I don't want to keep making payments on a car that I can't drive. So PLEASE HELP!!!!

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/03/17) */ I have on two occasions tried to contact the customer concerning this issue. I spoke to the sales manager who told me that the customer purchased this vehicle and signed all documents stating that he was purchasing this vehicle as is with no warranties. We tried to get the customer A low cost loan but they were not eligible. The sales manager did instruct me to let the customer know that we would as a goodwill Be willing to do the repairs at cost and we would even be willing to pay for half the cost. All the customer needs to do is get in touch with his sales manager. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/03/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) They have not tried to reach me so I had to get a lawyer for this matter. They knew that the car had problems and instead of being a good car dealer they just put it back onto the lot wanting it to be someone else's problem.

I bought a 2016 ***** ******* ******* from this dealer. When I bought the car I paid for a warranty. Within about one month the drive shaft exploded and further caused damage to the transmission. I paid for a warranty for the vehicle during the time of purchase. The warranty company returned my money saying that they don't cover these things because the car was modified ( had the car been inspected Rod Hatfield would have discovered the modifications done to the vehicle) The warranty company said they're going to return the money for the warranty because there should've never been a warranty on this vehicle. First thing I wouldn't have purchased the car without a warranty. I was also allowed to pick up the vehicle out of state without it being inspected by Rod Hatfield to be sure that the car was safe to drive and able to have a warranty placed on the vehicle. I've tried multiple times to get Rod Hatfield to fix the car and it seems that they are attempting to force me to pay for the repairs. I've tried for months to get help with this vehicle but have been given the run around. This vehicle is worth around $65,000 and I'm left with paying for it and it was unsafe to drive and it was a threat to my life and also others. Luckily I was able to control the vehicle to guide it to the side of the highway. The airbags deployed which prevented me from seeing anything on the left side of the car. Myself and others shouldn't be sold vehicles that are a threat to our lives on the road.

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/02/25) */ ***Document Attached*** Mr.****** did purchase a 2016 ***** ******* hellcat from Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory. mr. ****** himself went and picked this vehicle up out of state and spoke to the owner who told Mr. ****** that no upgrades were made to the vehicle. Mr. ****** did purchase a service warranty on the vehicle but the service warranty states that if any modifications are made to the vehicle the warranty can be void. Mr. ****** is correct that Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory never inspected this vehicle because the vehicle was in Mr. ****** possession at all times. We are sorry that Mr. ****** did have a situation with this vehicle but we cannot be held responsible due to the fact that he had an aftermarket driveshaft on this vehicle that came a part for some reason and damaged the vehicle and transmission. The service contract did return the customer his money for the service contract and Rod Hatfield used car factory did offered to help the customer with the repair of the transmission at the dealerships cost on parts. The customer declined to pay the cost for the transmission and his insurance company covered the repairs to the vehicle body. We do not understand why his insurance company would not cover the whole vehicle since it did cover the bodywork that was damaged because of the driveshaft . Again we are sorry the customer had this problem but we do not feel Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory is at fault and the customer did sign a as is buyers guide as you can see. Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/03/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The very first thing that I must mention is the fact that this car was illegally put into my name. Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory had a Sherif and a notary sign paperwork saying the car was inspected. Which is clearly a violation of the oath that this Sherif has taken. I was told to go get the vehicle so I was doing what I thought was normal. I signed this agreement to purchase this car with a warranty and to place a warranty on this vehicle without it being inspected was something that Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory shouldn't have done. I was offered $2,000 by the company which does not cover the damages. *********** fixed the damages that they were responsible for which was the damages to the vehicle after the Drive shaft and transmission fail. *********** is responsible for damages but not from mechanical failures. Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory does not want to take responsibility because they are paid in full and obviously do not care about products that they put on the road even if it poses a threat to the safety of its customers and other people. They have a Sherif to sign off on paperwork without seeing these vehicles is a blatant disregard for laws that protect us. My complaint isn't just for myself it's to assist others when dealing with Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory and their GREED with disregard to our lives on these roads. I'm asking for help before something happens because Rod Hatfield Used Car Factory doesn't mind putting OUR LIVES IN DANGER. The buyers guide that they produced may have been for a previous vehicle because they only showed the back of it which doesn't show the vin number to the vehicle at hand. At the end of the day I was cheated out of my money and they broke the law along with the help of The Sherif's Department of Fayette Co. ( I have a document proving that the Sherif and Notary signed saying they inspected the vehicle and they never did).
