      I was a member at Glen Oaks Country Club and the dues were paid automatically each month by my credit card. I called them to cancel my membership in October of 2021. The person answering the phone advised me to visit the pro-shop in person if I wished to cancel my membership. I visited the pro-shop in October and asked the person at the counter to cancel my membership. I don't remember the person's name. He pulled up my information on the computer and after a few minutes of navigating through the system he said "you are all set, your membership has been cancelled effective November -2021". The membership dues came out of my credit card that I don't use often and the card balance gets paid each month automatically from my bank account. On 05/18/2022 I was going through the online statements and realized that I was still being charged monthly by Glen Oaks, even though I had cancelled my membership. I reached out to them and the person at the pro-shop transferred me to another person named ****. **** said they cannot refund the dues from October because it had been too long. I argued that I followed procedure as was told to me. I asked him when was the last time I used the club services and he confirmed it was in October 2021. **** said he will check with the General Manager and get back with me. He never called me back, so I called again the next day (May 19th) and was advised by the pro-shop attendant to call back the next morning. I called again on May 21st and **** said they can't do anything about it and I will not get any refund for the dues they collected between Nov-2021 and Apr-2022. He said his General Manager also agreed with him.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

       

      One part of the complaint is resolved, where they have refunded my money back. But, their statement that profanity was used and that I was rude is not true. In fact the staff was rude to me and were dismissive about my requests to refund the money.
