Today is June 8 2022 and I went to Shell to purchase ice as I always do. This time when I was checking out a lady yelled and to the front saying " If you are using a card it is a 1.00. Do you have a dollar (I had my card). I said, "no" but I can fill it with a drink or make other purchases. I told the lady (identified herself as a manager) I come in all of the time and this was the first time I am hearing this. I asked the other clerk and he said, "This was his first time hearing about this fee as well." I told the lady (store manager) things are usually posted if there is a minimum fee. She became irate and said, "She is sure she told me this before." I told her instantly I have never known about fee nor spoken to her about ice fees. I then look around the store and took pictures to prove there are no signs anywhere regarding this "credit card" fee. She was yelling, irate and embarrassing. I attempted to contact the store for further resolution she was verbally aggressive and abruptly ended the call.
