I placed two separate orders May 7, 2024. May 17 I e-mailed Laura's Mercantile to determine the status of the orders. May 22 I received a response indicating that one order was filled and being shipped. **** did not receive any product from Laura's Mercantile until May 28 (according to **** data) . I received both orders (in the same box) May 30. One order was 12 lbs of ground beef. All of the (12) packages were thawed; many leaked blood into the carrier box. About 15 minutes after I had placed the ground beef into the refrigerator, I took the temperature of one package: 55 degrees F. Later research indicated that ground beef over 40 degrees F enters a 'danger zone' relative to the growth of bacteria. The beef is not safe to eat! The second order consisted of 2 bags of wafers and 'the strongest bundle.' The wafer bags were sealed and only needed wiping off. The Full Spectrum Hemp Extract was actually packaged properly and was in good condition upon receipt. (A bit bloody, but that washes off.) The Cooling Roller had leaked because it wasn't packaged properly. Except for one e-mail, there was zero communication. I phoned the company and had to leave a message. The company never returned my phone calls. I am not happy with the loss of the meat or even some of the Cooling Roller contents. The worst part is the inability to return the product: I would have to pay for the return cost. That is not right. The loss of the meat has more to do with the failure of Laura's Mercantile to package and mail the meat in timely fashion. The presumption is that the meat had been frozen prior to mailing. There was no failure of the **** system either: product was received at **** May 28 (according to **** data); I received the product May 30, 2024. In addition, due to the lack of communication on the part of Laura's Mercantile, how am I to know if a return were received, accepted, or even if any funds were returned? No one is apparently available to have a discussion with.
