I contacted Premier Deck and Patio on March 15 to receive an estimate for an insulated patio covering for my back deck. I was provided an estimate of $4,786. The estimate did not specify if the materials quoted were insulated or uninsulated. We signed and dated a contract with Premier Deck and Patio dated March 20 listing the services as "Construction of full deck/patio in a professional and timely manner. will provide insurance for all work to be completed. Will build deck/patio in accordance with the plans and specifications previously reviewed by the owner. a copy of all plans will be attached to this agreement for clarification. Premier deck and patio will be responsible for managing all portions of the project" to be completed by April 20, 2022. As agreed, we paid a 60% deposit of the quoted cost ($3,586). When Premier Deck and Patio showed up on March 28 to complete the build, it was realized that they had brought materials for an *uninsulated patio covering. I understood the error as a misunderstanding and I asked to be kept up to date when the correct insulated materials arrived. No work was completed. The next day I was advised that I would need to pay an additional $1800 for the insulated materials. I explained that the reason that I decided upon Premier Deck and Patio was because of the price point given to me in the initial quote. Premier Deck and Patio responded "Let me see what I can do." After that time, communication was sparse. Whenever I asked for an update, I was told that materials were delayed or that the contractor was busy. I was also told that I could not receive a refund because the materials had to be ordered up front. Since the beginning of August, I have called and left multiple voicemails, sent multiple FB messages, and set an ultimatum email. I have not received any response from Premier Deck and Patio. At this point, I do not trust Premier Deck and Patio to complete the job and would like a refund of my deposit.
