My house incurred damage to our vinyl siding from Hurricane Ida, so my fiance' put out a request on Angi to connect with a contractor to repair our siding. He connected with ******* ****** of Exterrior Innovations who quoted us an estimate of $7,232.00 to "replace storm damaged siding, soffit, fascia, beams, & ceilings." (Estimate EST5374 is attached and dated 11/20/21.) I sent this to my insurance company; they approved the estimate, and I was allowed to proceed with the repairs. ******* told us that we would need to put down a materials deposit of $4925.00 so he could order our supplies. We told him that we were uncomfortable with giving him more than 50% of the estimate, but he assured us that he was a "stand-up guy" and "would not run away with our money." On December 12, I gave him a check for $4925 and he cashed it on December 13, 2021. He told us that he should be able to get to our repairs just after the beginning of the year. Weeks went by, and he and I kept in touch. Every time I would ask for an update, he assured me that we would be next. Eventually, he stopped responding to all communications. I have not heard from him since May 16. I have sent numerous text messages and multiple emails. I have attached text correspondence with the owner of the company, the material deposit receipt, and the proof of the cashed check.
