We paid ****** ******* to install an awning above our shop door. We paid a $700 deposit and he never showed up to install the awning and never refunded our deposit. He strung us along for months stating that the materials were backordered. He refuses to answer telephone calls or emails now.Customer response

Awing deport performed work on my window on June 4, 2022. The awning they set up is on an upstairs window that only professionals can access. After I brought the issue to the attention of ******, owner of the business, ( two text messages, one day part giving him time to respond, Nov 21, Nov 22, and two voice mails later, again each one a day apart), he acknowledged, on Nov 28, that he would send a crew member to fix the issue. After they didn't show up, I reached out to him on Dec 4th asking if there is a time that he can let me know when a crew member would come to fix the issue. Not hearing back anything from ******, after one full week, I am here with an issue that the business has done poorly and would not respond to messages. The problem persists. It is an easy fix but he would not send anyone to fix the issue. there should be some warranty on the work especially when it costs hundreds of dollars.Customer response

The business has not resolved the issue. I have not heard from the owner of the company. The issue has gotten worse and I am unable to find a recourse at this time.Initial Complaint

Date of Transaction: 5/26/22 Amount: $1,000 Commitment: At the time of ordering my awning with Awning Depot via phone call on 5/26/22, Awning Depot employee ****** ******* informed me that he expected my awning to ship within several weeks. My order was for an awning that Awning Depot lists on their website as a "metal awning kit" and is described as a "metal awning shipped to your door". Dispute: Prior to placing my order and providing payment to Awning Depot on 5/26/22, ****** would answer my phone calls, return my voice mails, and quickly reply to my emails. However, that willingness and availability to communicate drastically changed after they received my full payment of $1,000. ****** did call me on 6/14/22 to confirm the dimensions of my awning before they began to build it, even though we had already confirmed the dimensions several times prior. After our phone call I sent an email to ****** with a picture of where I would be installing my awning, which I marked up with notes in an effort to clearly picture my dimensions. What followed was a period from 6/14/22 - 9/28/22 where Awning Depot ceased all communication with me and never shipped my order. Despite my attempts to contact them via phone calls and emails over this more than three month period, neither ****** or any other representative from Awning Depot contacted me. Finally on 9/28/22 I left a voicemail for ****** where I said that I would dispute the charge with my card company, which finally resulted in him sending me an email later that day. ****** stated that my order had been lost, but that they would make a new awning for me. After trading a few more emails, he gave me his word that my order would ship by the end of last week. To date, my order still has not shipped. ****** has stated on multiple occasions that he would send me a receipt for my order, a picture of my awning and a tracking number, but he has never done so.
