I went to Aspire Health Svcs on November 11, 2022. I was looking to have weight Loss surgery. I was referred by a friend telling me that she mentioned my situation to the nurse practitioner there ******** *****. Ms. ****** told her to tell me to make an appointment; she could help me. I went there; she came into the room ask me how she could help me I told her I was there to get help in getting weight loss surgery. She told me that she does not provide those services. She starting talking about how she could help me loss weight with supplements. I immediately stop her let her know I was not interested in what she was selling. She told me that was find if I change my mind let her know. I asked her before I left her office; being that I did not have any services rendered my insurance shouldn’t be billed she assured me it wouldn’t all she was asking was the copay of $25. I didn’t feel I should have to pay anything; but I went on and paid the $25 for no service rendered. I never went back and never heard from them. I started receiving strange phone calls from a debt collector around the second week in this month and emails stating I owe $311 to Aspire Health. I decided to reach out to my insurance company to see if she tried to file a claim. I was told she did but was denied which is why she is trying to get me to pay. She rendered no services. No urine, blood, temperature, weight nothing was done other than conversation that was cut short because I wasn’t interested and went there under false pretenses. Is this legal? I feel it is fraudulent for someone to charge a person for services not rendered. I feel she needs to retract her claims and stop contacting me for money because she did absolutely nothing for me! I am feeling harassed.
