My daughter was injured in a not at fault motor vehicle accident in September 2022 and suffered a concussion, whiplash, bilateral hip pain and a painful herniated lumbar disc. I used their website for the initial contact and a representative in Lafayette called me within a day or so later to confirm that they would take the case and that ****** **** would be her attorney. After going through her initial medical evaluation conducted by ***** ********** ******* ******* in Lafayette, she was prescribed chiropractic care at their New Iberia location where she was provided with E-Stim, heat therapy, stretching, spinal manipulation, local injections, and traction, all with moderate to little effect. Her concussion was diagnosed by the neurologist she sees for migraines and not by one of the firms’ consultants. After months of continued low back pain, her chiropractor at ***** ********** ******* ******* referred her to another specialist in December 2022. On January 18, 2023, the neurosurgeon ordered an MRI of her lumbar spine, that revealed a herniate L5-S1 disc. He recommended outpatient steroid injections under anesthesia. While she continues to experience often, significant pain that can only be mitigated by laying in bed, she’s still waiting for ****** **** to authorize the treatment recommended by the neurosurgeon. While it’s apparent that many of Gordon McKernan’s clients are satisfied with his practice’s performance, I, after experiencing the total lack of organization and communication would never recommend his practice to handle a personal injury case. Had I not decided to hire them my daughter, between my health care plan and auto insurance coverage would have long ago received the necessary treatment and been on the road to recovery instead of enduring constant pain and being subjected to either an incompetent or uncompassionate attorney.

I would like to amend my review after I was contacted by representatives of the Gordon McKernan law firm. On March 1, 2023, I had a conference call with both **** **** and ***** ******, the managing partner at the Lafayette office. We discussed my concerns, and I was assured that reviews such as mine were not a reflection of how they handle their cases. After approximately 15 to 20 minutes **** ****** told me to contact her if I had any additional concerns and **** **** provided me with his business cell phone number in the event I needed him after hours. Several days following that conference call I was contacted by Mr. McKernan's Operations Manager from the Baton Rouge office who also expressed regret and reiterated that my experience was aberration. She too told me that if any additional problems arise that I could contact her. Following both discussions, the communications between Mr. **** and I went above and beyond what I had expected. I received updates in near real time, sometimes twice a day. My daughter's case was finally settled last week. I can only conclude that my experience was a rarity and, based on the willingness of their management, at all levels to reach out to me to resolve my concerns I would certainly recommend the Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys for anyone seeking a personal injury law firm.

I ended up moving across the country during my case and they made sure I was set up with a new pain specialist, set up virtual sessions to ensure I did not have to travel long distances, and completed my case to my satisfaction.
