My son, **** ********, asked for help through Southeast Legal Services. He lived in his mobile home behind V&L Mobile Homes Supplies, owned by ****** ******. He was also employed by ****** ******* She had not paid him a salary in 2 years. Their agreement was she would pay the utilities and give him money as needed. He contracted Covid and was off of work for several days. ****** ****** fired him because he had Covid and could not work. She then placed a 5 day eviction notice on his door and had his utilities disconnected in 100° weather. He had already contacted Entergy and made arrangements to pay his bill by August 11th. She contacted them and had them disconnected on August 8th. Him and his 4 pets lived in his mobile home. I took my generator to him so he would at least have some air. He spoke to ******* *********, Attorney, at Southeast Legal Services. Mr. ********* drew up the documents and said **** should be protected because what ****** *****r did was illegal. He stated that he had given him a RO from ******. He did not inform us on this day that we would have to get a $20 money order and deliver it to the Clerk of Courts Office in Amite. After his secretary contacted **** and informed him of the MO, we immediately went and bought the MO and took it to The Clerk of Courts Office. They said they had no idea what we were talking about. We contacted Mr. ********* and he said to bring it to him and he would deliver it. He stated it must be delivered to him by 11:00 am the following day or it would be too late to file the injunction. We went to court on September 1. ****** said she had only received the court notice 30 minutes ahead of time. Judge ***** allowed ****** time to contact her lawyer but she was unable to reach him. The judge called ***** Mr. ********* and ****** to the podium. Mr. ********* was unprepared and allowed ****** Harper to speak freely in which she preceeded to tell many falsehoods.
