On 8/14/22 we discovered that our camper was missing from our storage spot at Square Space Storage. It was in site number 5113. We had just began renting there in April 2022. We filed a police report and contacted Square Space immediately. The last time we used the camper was the end of April and we went back on 5/6/22 to put our washed clothes and linens back in it so it could have been stolen between 5/6/22-8/14/22. Square Space has basically said we are sorry for your loss. We have discovered through social media responses that someone else’s camper was stolen from there recently. We paid good money to store our camper in what was supposed to be a gate and camera secured business and that turned out to be a lie. We want other consumers to know that their belonging will be at risk if stored at this location.Business response

We feel awful about what happened. In the past year we have upgraded our camera system and also a brand new gate. We can't sit and review camera footage for 100 days 24/7 or 2,400 hours to find when the camper went missing. Which is what the customer requested.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because I completely understand the chore involved in reviewing camera footage and the limitations of storage. What I expect from Square Space storage are a few things they should be capable of: 1) Validation of the dates we entered our code on the gate so we can know the date of the last time we were there prior to 8/14/22. 2) Review camera footage of whatever camera shows the contents of our site 5113 to see if the camper was present on that day and then provide that date to us. That would at least let us know about how long ago it was taken. I can see our site clearly on Google Earth so surely their brand new cameras show adequate footage of that site. 3) Make us an appointment with the on-site manager Aaron so we can talk to him in person. I repeatedly asked the district manager Philip for that appointment and he said it would not be fruitful. 4) Allow us to place a sign on the building next to site 5113 asking for anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact us. We are willing to offer a reward for information. The sign is another thing Philip would not allow. 5) What I want Square Space to understand is this camper was our home away from home. It contained personal items that can never be replaced. I need to know they have made any attempt possible and within reason to help us find out what happened to our camper, and I don’t think we are asking for anything unreasonable.
