I am a tenant of the apartment complex and have had A/C issues since moving in. The a/c unit does not work properly and the property managers are negligent to the root of the problem. I have consistently submitted maintenance requests for the a/c to be fixed which the maintenance personnel is sent only to spray freon and claim that the unit is fixed. The a/c has now been drained twice because it leaks. The property managers originally had an accredited air conditioning company come in to check it and they diagnosed the real problem. However, the property managers quickly stopped doing business with the company after finding out what is truly causing the a/c unit to not function properly. I have had to submit multiple maintenance requests each time the a/c went out and there have been times where I had no air conditioning for several days. The property management always fail to answer the phone unless it’s money involved. To add to this, I’ve expressed the urgency of needing the a/c fixed as my son is epileptic and excessive heat can trigger seizures. Furthermore, we are experiencing extreme heat outside so this matter can lead to death. The property managers won’t apply credit for rent to my account nor are they willing to reimburse for me having to pay for fans out of pocket in order to try and c keep cool in the apartment. This apartment ahas gotten up to 90+ degrees and the temperatures outside are as high and hotter. I really need this problem resolved and am seeking legal guidance as mine and my son’s health is at stake due to their negligence.
