8/19/21 I signed a contract with Mardi Gras Pools to build a Martinique (Tallman Manufacturer) Pool with spa for a total of $57,700.00. I gave *** ******* a deposit check #2684 in the amount of $29,000.00 to order the fiberglass pool from Tallman Pools. He is a distributor for Tallman Pools even though my address was not specifically his territory. Tallman allows him to purchase pools in my neighborhood even though it's not his area due to a long term relationship with the owner of Tallman Pools. *** cashed the check on 8/23/21 and promised to install the pool on 11/22/21. He continued to communicate with me over the next several months continuing to give me updates on the schedule. He stopped communicating all together on 11/19. I contacted Tallman Pools only to discover that he had never ordered the pool. His last communication was on 11/19. I went to his home and talked to neighbors. Turns out he was in the process of moving out of the rental house. The neighbor saw him and his wife ******** who is the actual owner of Mardi Gras Pools on 12/8/21 but they completely disappeared before I could get the sheriff to serve the warrant on 12/9/21. His phone is disconnected and no one has heard from him. There are 7 other families who are in the same situation totaling upwards of $225,000.00.
