Upon vacationing in ***********, I took a street cab (Hero Taxi Cab LLC.), I was told the charge was $25.00 and I gave a tip of $5, making it a total of $30.00. Upon going home, I see I was actually charged $78.55 for this ride. I do not have a receipt, but upon reading reviews, this is something this company has done to many other travelers. I just don't want them taking advantage of other people in the future. It's extremely unethical.Business response

8/31/24 was quoted $25 for a less than 10 minute cab ride for myself and 2 others. When I paid I authorized $30 to be charged to my card, $25 + $5 tip. The transaction posted 9/3/24 due to the holiday delay. I was charged a total of $85.40 which I did not authorize. I can provide bank records if needed.Business response

Better Business Bureau:
At this time, I have not been contacted by Hero Taxi Cab regarding complaint ID ********. I cannot find a phone number to reach out to them directly. They did not provide me a receipt but told me my **** from ************** to the Marriott downtown would be $20 but I was charged $77. I tried to find their contact to immediately reach out and could not.

This taxi cab company is a scam. NEVER USE. They told me they were charging me $20 and charged me $85. I looked them up after the incident and this seems to be a pattern for them.Initial Complaint

I rode in this taxi for a few blocks and the driver claimed if i paid him a set fee he would wait as i was not staying long at my stop. the driver then proceeded to drive off and abandon me after charging me twice. claiming my card was declined he ran it on his friends cab card reader and on his. I was charged 86.55 for a few block ride and then was subsequently left at the location and forced to source alternate transportation. this occurred in the early morning hours of April 29. i believe the drive was attempting to run a scam.Business response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 21737318, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have not seen evidence of the agreed upon refund. The owner of hero taxi verbally agreed to refund the funds he charged me.

We were picked up for a ride in the ************** at ********************* and take to *************. We were told $20 for the ride. Upon being dropped off he stated credit card only. The credit card machine attached to the seat where you would normally swipe wasnt working and he told me to tap my card on his pad. I asked for a receipt and he wasnt able to provide it. I felt really uneasy about it but trusted. This was approximately 11:45 pm. When I woke up this morning I checked my bank records and was charged $98.50. This cab company are scam artists and should be shut down!!! I will dispute this with my bank. I since went on to read reviews and apparently this happens all the time. They should be stopped. On 1/18/2024 I took a taxi from Hero Taxi Cab for 3 blocks in ***********. They charged me $90 and only gave me something to sign without seeing price. I tried to dispute the charges.Business response
