Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/07/14) */ June 29th, 2021 - Enviro Mechanical Services installed a system for the previous homeowner. Ankur Mathur and Mr. ******* purchased the home. April 26th, 2022 11:00 am - Enviro Mechanical Services received a call for a service request from Mr. *******. Mr. ******* resides in Illinois and his ex-wife resides in the Bahamas, their daughter lives in Louisiana and the service request was for the daughter's residence. The ex-wife placed a call in reference to the request stating (in the process of cursing out our office staff) that we needed to get over there and fix it and that it was a new system and they would not be paying anything for the repair and that her daughter was not going to be without air conditioning. We rearranged our service schedule to get them worked in that same day and we sent a service technician to the residence. The problem was located and fixed and the solution was to replace a 30/5 mfd capacitor on the condensing unit. The total charge for the service call was $398.00. A discount of $100 was provided that brought the total charge of the service call to $298.00. Manufacturer warranties in the AC industry when a home is purchased only relate to the equipment not the labor. May 16th, 2022 12:01 pm - Enviro Mechanical Services received a call for a service request from Mr. ******* to re-inspect the unit. We sent a service technician out the same day again and found that screws were removed from the condensing unit and were laying on the ground beside the condenser (which we have pictures of) displaying that the unit had been tampered with. The technician re-secured the screws and verified that the system was working fine. There was NO CHARGE for this service call. Mr. ******* contacted our office saying that the manufacturer had warrantied the capacitor which is accurate. What Mr. ******* does not wish to understand if that the labor to get the capacitor and replace the capacitor is NOT warrantied. One of the great things about the internet and Google is that consumers can search and get a price for a capacitor. The thing Google does not include is that air conditioning companies require qualified technicians, vehicles, fuel, insurance/bonding, administrative staff (dispatch/scheduling), state mechanical licensing that are not calculated into the "Google" price of a simple capacitor that may cost $20. Once you calculate into the price all of the intangibles that are required to be able to go out and replace a capacitor for Mr. *******, then provide a second service call to check the operation of the system at NO CHARGE, in addition to a $100 discount from the inception of taking this call our company takes the position that we have gone beyond our obligations to stand behind our work and provide a solution to the customer. You will see on the attached invoice that since the labor warranty is not transferrable during the purchase of a home that a diagnostic was charged to determine what repair was needed and that a charge for labor to replace the capacitor (which) is listed on the invoice along with the attached job description showing the $100 discount. Please feel free to contact me personally with any concerns related to the work we performed for Mr. ******* as I noticed that Mr. ******* stated that he had spoke to the owner and I have NEVER had a conversation with Mr. ******* or his ex-wife and at this point I have no plans to speak to him as I am the owner. I do appreciate you reaching out to us for a resolution and we did provide the resolution that Mr. ******* was looking for - his daughters residence's air conditioner is working and cooling and once that was taken care of Mr. ******* immediately went into "negotiation" to reduce the cost of his desired result which from our position is nor realistic. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/07/15) */ Unfortunately **** is lying. The warranty clearly states parts are covered and transferable (previously attached). I was charged $199 for this part which should have been free as it's transferable to the next owner for 5 years. Enviro did not come to fix the install and there were no screws on the ground. The door to the unit is in fact still hanging off the unit. It simply was never properly installed. When I spoke with **** he told me his secretary would fix the issue of the warranty with carrier. Of course i'd be charged for the install and **** charged a crazy price. I'm simply asking to be reimbursed for a part that is clearly warrantied! **** is trying to double dip and take advantage of my young daughter homeowner and her parents who live out of state. I've tried to fix this with **** but when the owner hides and has his employees lie for him it's impossible. The fact he won't answer the phone or reply to emails is indicative of his lying and hiding from customers. All his negative reviews reflect his shady business dealing with unsuspecting customers (victims) Thank you.
