I had contacted Augustino brothers regarding a roofing issue that caused interior damage. I was having trouble getting the insurance to respond. Augustino assured me they were insurance experts and could get me a reasonable claim. After 6 months of getting no where, I hired a public adjuster. The owner, ******, attitude flipped on me. All of a sudden it was so important I sign a contract. I had previously signed an estimate, with no clauses locking me in. I was told they could get me a much better price when it was time to sign a contract and pick finishes. I was not satisfied with the contract I was given, so I did not sign. Now, I am being threatened with legal recourse and damage to my credit. They are claiming I owe them the price for a full roof and other repairs. No work was done. They did put a small tarp on my roof after a hurricane for $1500 which I paid. None of the actual replacement of roof or repairs in the estimate were completed. They are still asking for the full $60,000+. I have had to hire an attorney to respond to these bogus claims.Business response

I have been made aware of the complaint put forth by ***************************
Currently, Ms. ****** is facing a law suit by my company, Augustino Brothers *** (ABI)
Until the merits of this case have been determined, I would ask BBB to not make public any information until that time.
Ms. ****** asked ABI and its representatives, including myself, to meet with her, her mother, and her father on numerous occasions to go over their property damage. This is before Hurricane *** hit South *********. Then after our initial assessment, Hurricane *** hit. We are a full General Contractor that ************************** wanted to use for damages both exterior and interior. ABI is a professional GC in South ********* for over 20 years. We are very familiar with the insurance claim process, and therefore offered to represent ************************** on her behalf to her insurance company since she and her family were not getting any response.
Reps from ABI, including myself, met with insurance adjusters on numerous occasions to make sure the Ebrahimpour family were not going to get the run around. Ms. ******* signed an agreement with ABI to give ABI permission to negotiate with her insurance company, to meet with her adjuster for the purposes of a re-inspection of the property, and to get properly funded for the job to be completed by ABI.
In short, the Ebrahimpour family signed an agreement with ABI to make sure they got their funding from their insurance company, used ABIs name and estimations, took the money and had someone else complete the work. ABI spent approximately 6 months on the property consulting with the Ebrahimpour family, representing them to their ins. Provider, meeting with various inspectors, writing professional estimates (we had to employ a third part writer), and used ABIs reps knowledge and experience with the insurance industry to get what they wanted.
ABI was used and discarded even though paperwork was signed as you can see in the evidence provided by ***************************
ABI is now negotiating, through legal counsel, for the loss of profits as well as the monetary damages the Ebrahimpour family has caused.
Until the merits of this case is complete, we ask that the BBB withhold any public posting.Business response

Augustino Brothers *** (ABI) has considered this case closed. Although the Ebrahimpours had ABI representatives to their property several times to overlook their insurance claims, meet with multiple insurance adjusters and inspectors, climb all over their roofs, and continued to ensure that ABI will receive the work once the insurance company pays on the claim (going so far as to sign an approved estimate with ABI), ****************** has decided to no longer pursue any collection or legal action with Joulet or her family at this time. ABI has had no further contact or collection attempts with them. ****************** will contact the agency he uses for colllections and make sure they have closed this file, however there has been no further action that he or any ABI rep is aware of since this has been closed months ago.
In short, ABI feels that the Ebrahimpour's and Joulet have learned to stop making promises and signing documents if they have no intention on following through with their word or their signature, and ABI has nothing further to be involved with the Ebrahimpours or "Princess" *******
