American Standard Roofing is in violation of our written agreement, signed 10-25-2021. The company did not re-flash the chimney. Any change or modification to the roofing proposal/agreement had to be agreed on by both parties in writing. On the day the workers were completing the roof, I spoke to the ******* about new flashing. He said it was not needed, only sealant. I emailed the company representative on 11-13-21 and expressed my concern. I certainly did not agree to change the proposal. I would not have agreed to do business with them if I had known the chimney was not going to be re-flashed. It had been the source of leaks in the past and was my greatest concern. On June 29, 2022 the roof started leaking about the fireplace. I had to cancel contractors that had been schedule to start interior work. My home smells from the damp ceiling. I have contacted the warranty number and spoke multiple times with office staff. They are unable to say when I might be on their schedule. I attempted to send them certified mail and it was returned. In my opinion these are storm chasers trying to appear local. I asked that they subcontract the work if they are unable to do it, so the warranty remains. No response. I would like my chimney reflashed and the roof repaired to stop the leaks without delay.Business response

After review of your complaint, file, documents and pictures of your re-roof, the following: It appears that your choice for immediate repair is ********************* Company. At this time we agree that you hire them to replace your chimney flashing. Please have them invoice us directly to the amount of $3135 after completion of the work as stated in your letter dated 8/4/22.
Please send the letter to our **************** at ************************************************. Please forward any future correspondence directly to the Company Operations Manager at this address.
We are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused you.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The numbers have changed for the better. My insurance has agreed to pay $1,130. towards roof repairs. I have spoken with AAA Advanced and they agree to do the work and **** American Standard for the balance, which should be $2,570.
