My spouse & I towed my car to this man shop 01/25/2024 due a BAD alternator before dropping my car off to him my spouse and I had already discovered the alternator was BAD, also when we towed it to him NONE OF MY LIGHTS WAS ON MY DASH BOARD!!! We then proceeded to tell him BEFORE leaving the keys with him that the alternator was BAD but of course they have to diagnose the car etc etc. He then calls us & tells us that it’s the belt,alternator, & water pump. Now at this point im like how could it be the water pump if we already removed the alternator off the car brought it to **** **** * * ******* they said it was a BAD ALTERNATOR. We even drove the car to **** **** * * ****** with the alternator in place & they said BAD ALTERNATOR.So I told my spouse im like ok well if he can fix what needs fixing let him fix it because I need my car. My poor car stayed there all February which was fine because she’s getting fixed then he finally called and told us the car was ready. Wednesday February 28,2024 We went to go get my car , checked it out & then started it to see how it would start & THEN I noticed a problem on the dash. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT none of my lights was on when we towed the car to him. So now at this point I told my spouse again im like “ Babe my check engine light wasn’t on when we towed the car to him, why is it on now? “ The check engine light on because your car was sitting here with the battery in it, I only fixed what I told you I fixed, but I can clear the code for the check engine light. So now him and my spouse get to going back & forth & he continues to argue with us down speaking in different languages ( English & Chinese) about why the check engine light was on my vehicle. So now at this point, I told him I said “well let’s try clearing the code and if it comes back on, then we’re going to have a problem.”The next day Thursday my spouse & I dropping our son off to the bus stop & after we did that we went run other errands that morning and then my spouse is driving and he’s like “Babe the car not going “ im like “ what you mean it’s not driving “ so yall we going like 20 mph but the car showing we doing like 80 mph but then the check engine light comes back on. Lastly we had been without a car that Thursday March 1st - March 31st we just got my car out the shop at ********* ******** which they told us it was the ALTERNATOR because my car need a VOLKSWAGON ALTERNATOR not a aftermarket one. Anything on my car that’s aftermarket my car will not run or it won’t work so that WATER PUMP was never changed from the get go.Business response

SHE TOW THE CAR TO MY SHOP TOLD ME TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR WHICH I DID NOT BECAUSE AT THAT TIME THE DRIVE BELT WASN'T ON THE CAR AND THE WATER PUMP IS LOCK UP THAT MUST HAVE POP THE BELT. SO I TOLD HER SHE NEED TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP AND THE BELT BEFORE I CAN DETERMINE IF THE ALTERNATOR IS BAD.. AFTER THE WATER PUMP AND BELT REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR WAS CHARGING OK TO ME AT THAT TIME SO THAT IS ALL WE DID, I DID EXPLAIN THIS TO HER BEFORE WE REPLACE THE WATER PUMP, I TOLD HERE THAT THE CONDITION OF HER CAR AT THIS TIME IF THE DRIVE BELT IF NOT ON THE VEHICLE I CANNOT TEST THE ALTERNATOR AND I CANNOT PUT THE BELT ON WITHOUT REPLACE THE WATER PUMP BECAUSE THE WATER LOCK UP. I DID SHOW HER THE PARTS AFTER WE REPLACE IT I DONT KNOW WHY SHE KEEP TELLING DIFFERENCE STORY. I TOLD HERE I'AM HAPPY TO EXPLAIN TO THE JUDGE WHAT I DID BECAUSE REGARDLESS IF THE ALTERNATOR BAD OR NOT SHE STILL NEED TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP AND THE DRIVE BELT.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The things this man is explaining to the BBB is NOT what he explained to me or my spouse. My car never had any issues with the water pump. The belt broke on the way getting the car towed & we knew that. My car wasn’t running because of the ALTERNATOR we brought the car to him telling him the issue. My whole thing is the car still wasn’t running even after he claimed he fixed the water pump which again was never the problem. He said the alternator was fine to him but WE knew what was the problem from the get go. All im asking is for at least half or all my money back. I still had to go bring my car a few days after I got it out of his shop to another shop and pay them so why not give me back half or all my money.

CAN'T DO THE REFUND, THE CAR WAS TOW IN TO MY SHOP AND IT WAS DRIVEN OUT IF THE PROBLEM NOT FIX THE CAR SHOULD BE TOW OUT NOT DRIVEN OUT. SHE MIGHT HAVE OTHER PROBLEM AFTER THE REPAIR BUT FOR SURE IT NOT RELATED TO THE REPAIR I JUST DID. I DID TOLD HER FROM THE BEGINNING THAT I HAVE TO PUT THE BELT ON AND THE WATER PUMP ON BEFORE I CAN DETERMINE IF THE ALTERNATOR IS BAD.. THE JOB IS DONE IF THE WATER PUMP OR THE BELT IS BAD IT UNDER THE WARRANTY OTHER ISSUE SHE HAVE IS NOT RELATED TO WHAT I JUST REPAIR
