7/12/24 I had witnessed the pharmacist at Northside Pharmacy on Moss St. being rude or over the top with people and customers and it made me uncomfortable. I already suffer from anxiety. So, I transferred all of my prescriptions to Walgreens in Carencro. Very Nice People. Well, a couple of months later, my doctor called in 2 of my prescriptions to Northside Pharmacy by mistake and when I reluctantly but nicely called him to check the status of them, he refused to fill it unless I transferred everything back to him from Walgreens. And because of this, I had to go without my medicine until the doctor opened on Monday. I'm going to tell everyone and anyone who will listen because I do not believe that this is legal. It's disgusting!! He even made it known that he had the medicine I needed in stock but that I couldn't get it without transferring everything! I hope someone somewhere can do something about this place.Business response

On 7/11/2024 the patient contacted us about two prescriptions that were sent to us by mistake from her physician. She asked what she should do about this. We responded to her to reach out to her doctor and have them send them to her current pharmacy. We hope that we fully explained to the patient our policy of being in compliance with rules and regulations of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy regarding controlled substances. If it should appear that we did not accomplish this, we invite the patient to have a personal visit with the pharmacist and/or the owners. One 7/12/2024 the physician cancelled the 2 prescriptions. We explained to her that she should have enough medication from her previous two fills that would last her until Monday. We apologized and repeated our policy regarding the filling of all medications, not just controlled medications. Northside Pharmacy has been servicing patients for over 50 years. We pray that the patient understands that we must comply with our store policies, HIPPA rules and regulations of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Board of Pharmacy. We take any complaint with all seriousness. We apologize for any misunderstandings that may have occurred and with to rectify same.
