On Friday 5/12/23, I went to SouthStar at 4015 Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA 71203. I presented a list of medications for sleep that I had tried in the past and did not want. The list included trazodone, sertraline, doxepin, hydroxyzine and seraquel. The receptionist took to list to the back of the office. She returned and told me that the doctor would talk to me. When I was given a room, a woman took my blood etc and then told me that a nurse practioner would see me. The nurse practioner came in and told that she could only prescribe one of the medicines on the list that I did not want. SouthStar is nothing but a fraud.

I just visited Southstar urgent care Bastrop, LA. I was told my insurance was not valid. I called **** customer service and the agent offered to provide proof of coverage and advised them that my insurance was active with no breaks in coverage since 2016. The worker entering the information searched using my ss# and was pulling up old information. She refused to enter the information from my insurance card. The **** agent tried to send proof of coverage and they refused. They also refused to give me care. I contacted head quarters at and go hung up on 3 times. Me and the **** agent contacted billing and was advised that the location that I was at had to help me then she also hung up. This place is horrible and I can not understand how they are still allowed to practice. This was a nightmare and yes I went to another doctor's office and got assistance. The staff was treating me like crap and refused to help get the issue resolved. I wish I could give them a zero.SouthStar Urgent Care Response

i would not take my dog to southstar urgent care! The wait time is terrible and i keep getting billed and have insurance and have met my deductible! People think before you or your loved ones come here for help.Review from Todd H

Quoted and paid for COVID test 1 month later received a bill for an extra $147.22 with no explanation for the charge. Called South Star Urgent care to get an explanation and was met with “you need to pay or we will send you to collections “ Still no explanation on the charge and why I was quoted and billed differently in office. POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE! Very disappointed in the way it was handled and overall attitude.Review from dan r

he nurse today was a nightmare rude as hell she snapped at my 4 year old autistic child she don’t understand how to deal with certain situations she came in yelling at the baby bc she was over stimulated and slammed the door. Behind her self after yelling however the doctor was incredible. Way to go ******* really you don’t deserve your job normally our visit here is decent and all the staff are fabulous not today not at all todayReview from Joseph B

Had an online appointment. Showed up on time and still waited over an hour. Terrible scheduling practices.
