My name is ****** ******* my husband and I paid ******* ****** from Cajun Outdoor Paradise Product LLC a down payment deposit of $5,250 for outdoor shades for our home patio. As of date, ******* has not installed the shades on our home. May 31,2023 ****** ******* called Cajun outdoor paradise products LLC ******* ****** answered the phone. I ask for a quote to have outdoor shades installed on our back patio of our new home construction build. I provided the measurements and what we wanted to get done. ******* came to our home on June 4, 2023 and took measurements and showed us shade samples. My husband and I selected the shade material we wanted from samples and was provided a quote from *******. October 24, 2023 I contacted ******* and asked if he was willing to come down on the price of the outdoor shades. ******* said he would check, he came down on the price, then provided us a new quote. I looked over the new quote amount and notiied ******* that we were ready to go ahead and get the outdoor shades installed per the new quote ******* came over to our home once again, he took more measurements and I provided him a check for the down deposit to get started on the project. We paid $5,250 on October 24, 2023 which was the down deposit and was notified it will take 4 to 6 weeks to come in from that day. Check number is ****. The check has been cashed. We have asked ******* but yet to receive any information from ******* when the shade material were actually ordered:we have not receive any service or material from ******* as of date January 21, 2024 today marks day 90 since i wrote the check to *******. My husband and I both asked ******* for our money back on different occasions and still no respond back. My husband and I want our deposit of $5,250.00 back from ******* ****** from Cajun Outdoor Paradise Product LLC. Sincerely, ****** *******Business response

Mrs. ******** letter to BBB is correct with our contract. I think they are very good people.
I myself am honest and have been in business since 1982. I have fulfilled thousands of contracts and never been in a law suit over any contract.
The main reason why I have not fulfilled my end of the contract, in a timely manner, is I am dealing with my Wife’s health with cancer. Her medical bills have taken all my cushion money and has me delaying my projects.
I had all intentions to complete the contract but I understand they want their money back. I am trying diligently to get that for them asap.

I am rejecting this response because:
We think the reply is unacceptable and we request a refund immediately. I have talked to one of his other clients and he also used his wife’s cancer as an excuse. Even though ******* told the other client his wife was fine. ******* ****** told them he ordered parts but when they checked with the vendor, he did not order the parts but took their money. We all have lost family members, but it’s unacceptable business practice to use it as a failure excuse.
******* also mention waiting on new business to pay us back. What happens to the new client’s materials and labor, will he stand them up too just to pay us back. Another unacceptable business practice.
He was supposed to order materials with the money we provided as a down payment, but he used it for his own gain. The bottom line is he never ordered our materials. Also, unacceptable business practice.
He also refused to answer questions with any details and follow up. He was asked numerous times for updates and all provided was excuses without any project end date.
I have a business too. If I cannot meet the client’s expectations and agreement, I will refund their money. It is only fair to both parties.
Sorry we are both in this situation. Please refund our money.Business response
