I also purchased a car from this lot in which I have evidence of backing up on me a few times on me and not stopping and almost hitting a brick wall. I called and complained and was given a loaner car in the hot summer that did not have working heat but didn't complain because I thought the other car was being fixed. Because the website says trusted and reliable cars. I was told by several of the employees and the owner that they did not have reliable mechanics. I was also told by one of the employees that all of the payments were $250 per month but once a new manager took over the payments became higher on cars that were not even worthy of it. These cars are not even cleaned in the inside when you go to the lot.... its like someone is living inside the cars. Fast forward after getting out the hot car (the 2nd car to almost kill me) bc the first one wouldnt stop when I backed up and that one didnt have AC in the Hot summer. WELL the third vehicle stopped on me while I was driving to work on the interstate. Just completely stopped on me while I was driving and scared me for life of the interstate for a while because I could have cause a pile up. Next up was a car he got from a salvage yard with seat that looked like a dog chewed up but I didint complain because I needed a car and that was all he had for my budget. Well a week ago he took the car from me from not paying a $56 fee from a month before. Then he called me and said ohh yeah and you owed me from last year also which is $700 but we didnt catch it until not. I said huh? All of this stemmed from me questioning them about this car and its motor a few weeks after they gave it to me because the stirring wheel was not shifting and the manager said oh thats a engine problem. I asked her how would she know if it was a engine prob without checking it out or having a mechanic check it because she was not a mechanic. I have the text messages to show. I also have text messages from previous employees telling me how this company buy cars and dont have mechanics check them. They just put them on the lot and let customers purchased them with mechanical issues and these are all terms of lemon laws

On 3/2/2023 she had purchased a Chevy Sonic. She was given a loaner car 2011 Lexus when the issues with the Sonic.  On 6/6/2023 she was put into a 2014 Chevy Traverse, then on 10/3/2023 she was put into a 2009 Toyota Avalon. All of our customers are aware that there is a 30 day warranty on engine and transmission. Any issue after the 30 days does not fall on the dealership. We have signed proof that she was aware of this. She states that the vehicles condition look like someone lives in them. These are used vehicle and are not  off the show room floor. She also states the the vehicle was repossessed . We do repossess our vehicle when customer are behind on their payments or does not carry the correct insurance  as it states in her contract. She had a balance from her previous month and was late on her payment due. That we have the right to  take possession of the vehicle as it states in our contract. She was not given a car from a salvage lot. It was a repossession and she knew that. She asked to be put into  a cheaper car due to her not being able to afford the one she was in. She was not told it was a motor issue. If a vehicle will not shift it is not a motor issue. All our customers are told when they purchase a vehicle the details. We have tried to help *** ***** in her situation, but she is unhappy with what we had to put her in.   She had a past due balance on  the 2014 Chevy Traverse. On the 2014 Traverse she was two months behind. She could not make the payments. So we then put her in the 2009 Avalon were her payments were affordable for her. As in all of our contracts that all down payments and the monthly payments are non-refundable. We are sorry she feels this way, But we have done our best to help her. With all our customer if they have a an issue after the 30 days is up. We do our best to help them in the situation.  We have all of her signed contact if need.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 21384367, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am referring to the Chevy Sonic that almost killed me. Which was put out in the lot and the owner ever said he didn’t have mechanics to check nor work on these cars and he was sorry that it happened to me. I am trying to get a few of his old workers together to justify the situation. That he sells lemons.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

I went to Rent to Own Auto of Slidell June 6 2022 and got a used car. Rent to own auto of Slidell says they are committed to helping the less fortunate by providing affordable transportation so I trusted them to help me. I put $1,500 down **** by cashapp 400cash &was told my monthly payments would be $250. They said the car had minor issues that they fixed and now it was in good running shape no check engine lights were on they said they replaced the back left tire with a brand new one cus it was bad. I got a tune up & an oil change the next day. After 2 weeks the check engine light came on ac stopped working and the car stopped on me. I brought it back to *********** discovered the car had a major oil leak there was oil all over the engine which could have caused a fire. The car was still in their 30 day warranty but they refused to fix it saying that it was my fault. I asked for a refund or another car they refused After I mentioned a lawyer they offered to fix it. A few weeks later the brand new tire they replaced blew out while on the highway once again they blamed me. I was unable to drive the car for a month. After I got it fixed a week after the car randomly stopped at a red light and wouldnt move. I contacted them over and over and got no help I continued to pay my monthly bill for a car I couldnt use that was costing me more in repairs than to drive. They refused to give me any refund or give me another car. Last month they finally took the car to look at it. I spoke to the owner who yelled, blamed, and talked down to me so I hung up the call. His words were Hes not God and how does he know I didnt cause the damages he later refuse to help me in anyway because I hung up on him he said his emotions come before business and I had some nerve. They repossessed it &now Im without my money &a car. This place buys broke cars fixes them to the minimum, removes engine lights and resells them. I have more documents &info please contact me thanks acc 172

      ***************************

Yes a loaner car was given to me last month as I stated I didnt have enough space to write everything my car was supposed to be fixed by them I offered to pay $300 of the note then pay the remaining portion the Monday after Christmas even though my car was still broken *** refused to take my payment. The car has been broken longer than its been fixed the whole time Ive had the car its had issues that they know about I sent a friend there and shes going through the same thing ********* said the car has internal engine problems so the option they gave me was to pay for a broken car thats non drivable or have nothing THEY KNO EXACTLY WHAT THEY DOING !!! *** been asked to cancel they wont give me my money back an employee said they fix up lemons and resell them they make money by gettin ppls deposits I have proof of that I was sold a lemon I that set up broke  for with multiple issues more than I drove the car I WANT MA MONEY BACK! Bad business wont get u far this is ridiculous but I understand
