We hired Powerhouse in Sept. 2022 for 3 projects: 1) pour a concrete driveway and patio, 2) build a fence and 3 separate gates, and 3) build 2 new attached decks with composite flooring and railing. They assured they were qualified for all three projects. The concrete driveway and patio are fine The other 2 projects (fence/gates and decks) had problems since the beginning. Many fence boards are crooked and warped and none of the 3 fence gates were properly built. The gates did not open easily, and sagged and dragged on to the ground. After contacting the company multiple times, they sent someone to fix the gates in Jan. 2023. The gates ended up in worse condition. There were several of these episodes. On June 27, 2023, they sent a ********* to fix the 3 gates. For the moment the gates open easily. They have never offered to replace the crooked and warped fence boards or properly build the gates. The decks are the most serious problem and the reason for our appeal for help. They were the costliest ($17,000) and carry the greatest urgency. The composite grooved boards on the deck were improperly installed, voiding the manufacturer's 25-year warranty. Problems identified by qualified carpenters are: 1) Screws were used to attach the grooved deck boards instead of hidden fasteners that attach to the joists.2) No spacing between the deck boards to allow water to drain. 3)The joists supporting the deck boards are too far apart to prevent sagging. 4) Composite fascia boards were not used on the installation of the stairs and on the side of the deck. In January 2023 they brought a ********* to inspect. He identified the problems listed above. 11 months have passed with no action.Customer response
