I gave *************************** the opportunity to do my roof due to the fact that i personally have known him for years. My roof was completed on 6/25, I had prior interior damage but when I came back from out of town on 7/4 I had more interior damage as roof was still leaking. ******* came out on 7/6 and said he fixed the leak but when further inspected he used black caulking all over where the leak was and still not flush. Along with his workers laid out on my patio furniture, ********* hamburgers left in my yard and a pitbull mix walking around my property for two days after asking workers and ******* to remove the unleashed dog from my property as I live in an HOA I have been left with a roof that I ultimately have to have replaced again. Shingles going multiple directions, black caulking everywhere, rusted flashing not replaced, three tabs shingles used as ridge caps, a worley bird being added withoit my knowledge, tankless hot water heater vent changed to plastic, gaps in valleys, and mold where ******* checked and said was not wet but failed to mention the mold all together.

My employees felt threatened, with racist remarks and we do not feel safe returning.

I will be contacting the law enforcement of ******************************* and st. tammany
I will also be putting a cease and desist towards the customer as well.

      Subject: Contractors Response to Complaint

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

I received *************-******* complaint regarding the above referenced roofing replacement.   While I take this claim very seriously and am sympathetic to consumers being treated fairly, I want to assure you that the work performed meets all building code and workmanship requirements.

I was contracted by ************************** to perform roof shingle replacement work.  We commenced with replacement of the roof on June 22, 2022 and completed the job on June 24th. It started raining during the shingle installation which prevented us from proceeding with the shingle install.  Please note that all synthetic roofing underlayment was installed with proper lap and nailing which provided the required moisture barrier to prevent storm water from entering the home.  We made every attempt to proceed with work under safe working conditions but, the rain caused a delay, and we completed the job in two (2) days.  Our workmanship and quality of work did not alter.

I was notified by ************************** of a leak on July 4th.  On July 6th, I went to the home, assessed the roof for leaks and determined a leak was occurring at the chimney.  I repaired the leak with roofing sealant that next day. The roof leak caused water staining to an area of drywall ceiling inside the home which I offer to replace but, ************************** was upset and wanted a full refund of the roof replacement cost.

I disagree with Mrs. ******* request of a full refund.  I understand that ***************** may be unhappy about the roof installation but, I am willing to replace any material and/or workmanship defects as indicated in the contract.  The work contract specifies that I will warranty the work and repair any defective work.  I am requesting written communication detailing any defective work so that I can repair it per the warranty terms of the contract.
I have made multiple attempts to satisfy Mrs. ******* request but, she has been verbally abusive and has been extremely unprofessional which has made it very complicated to resolve this matter.  I have attached screenshots of text communications between myself and ***************** to detail how difficult it has been trying to work with her.  I am committed to resolving this matter if it is determined that there is a material or workmanship defect.

I completed all work I was contractually obligated to perform, I responded in a timely manner to evaluate the clients complaint and I attempted to provide a resolution to satisfy **************************.

As far as the mold goes, I was never instructed to inspect the home, attic, walls, ceilings. My job was to replace the roof. Out of kindness I went in the attic to inspect for a leak and was unsuccessful. There was nothing wet to report. ***************** then proceeded to pay a 3rd party to come rip out drywall(walls & ceiling) then exposing mold that was unforeseen by myself. I then advised after receiving the pictures that the black mold was potentially from *** 11 months ago that never got addressed as it took this long to replace the roof. I do honor my obligation to my clients to notify them about my sightings if/when I come across.

***************** has completely ran my name and the business name through the mud on all social media platforms, ************ and now looking to take me to court. With the threats to me and my familys life from ***************** verbally and in texts below, I do not feel safe around the premises.

I hope this letter and the attached screenshot texts between myself and ***************** *************) provide sufficient detail to make the situation regarding this project clear.  Mrs. ******* complaint and statements are unfounded, and her ultimate disposition request is unreasonable.  If any additional information is required, please feel free to contact me at ************ or via email at visionaire**************************.com.

      Sincerely yours,

      ***************************

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

      Regards,

      *********************

************** roofers completed the roof on Saturday June 25, 2022. On July 4, 2022 I notified him that roof was still leaking, ************** came out on July 6, 2022 as he was asked to come out on July 5, 2022 and ultimately refused. Please note that ************** did not not supervise roof crew through work from June 23, 2022- June 25, 2022.

On June 6, 2022 ************** came out and added two ridge vents, "fixed" the leaked with a three tab shingle and some black caulk (pictures sent in original complaint) and also caulked around the chimney and said everything was fine. I brought to ****************** attention that humidity was reading high on thermostat and he advised me to give it 24 hours. ************** also climbed in attic and said he looked on sheetrock and saw no water damage.

On June 8, 2022 I notified ************** that I was calling out a home inspector because humidity was still high. When inspector arrived he felt warm air coming through ceiling implying that roof was not "fixed" and began to open up sheetrock as attic space is not accessible in damaged part of the room in which he uncovered insultation soaked. Upon further investigation he went into the attic where ceiling is accessible to remainder of room, lifted up a piece of insulation and uncovered mold, the same area ************** checked and said was fine two days earlier. Due to the fact that my children reside upstairs I was infuriated at ****************** negligence.

Per reading ************** accusations they are false and cannot be proven. I asked ************** several times to have an unleashed dog removed from my property which was never done. My property was trashed after first day with employees leaving food in my yard for my own dogs to get a hold of.

I have attached a current estimate of repairs that need to be made amounting in $6,200 which I sent to ************** on July 15, 2022 which I received no response from him. On July 16, 2022 I called him and text him about coming to an agreement which I again received no response or call back. On July 18, 2022 I notified ************** of more water damage implying that roof was still leaking with once again no response. I attempted to get ****************** company insurance July 18, ********************************************* which I received no response. My husband requested insurance before job began in which he told him "2 million" but no policy number was given. Due to the fact that ************** is refusing to cooperate and was given the opportunity to fix the leak and has not and is refusing to provide his insurance I cannot allow him to come back out.

****************** quality of work has ultimately forced us to have no use of the upstairs part of our home, displace my children from there living quarters, and now financially cause my family and I financial heartache as I have to pay someone to trace his insurance and have someone fix his work.
