My dog ***** was in congestive heart failure and had extremely exacerbated breathing. My regular vet called and told them everything they needed to know about ***** and that she would be there shortly. I called to confirm they had the oxygen kennels ready and to let them know I was 30 minutes away. They told me everything was ready for her and that they would take her in immediately. We ended up waiting for TWO HOURS in the waiting room with a dog who could not breathe. And they really only took her within two hours because I told them we couldnt wait any longer. It was traumatic. After that, I was coerced into putting my credit card on file and signing documentation approving up to $3,000 in care for my pet. I negotiated them down from the original $5,000 they requested. When I asked why it was so high, they said, well, do you want us to perform life-saving measures or not? So they charged $3,000 to my card and said whatever wasnt spent would be refunded.Their brochures state we will keep you advised of all costs throughout your pets care. which is blatantly false. When I repeatedly asked for the costs associated with her care, and updates on my bill since she stayed overnight, I was never once given an itemized bill or any information. And now that ** asking for it they sent me a letter of separation stating my pet is no longer welcome here. Their lack of transparency is astonishing. Is asking for an itemized bill while they run up your credit card too much to ask? This business should be ashamed of how they have handled this. How hard would it have been to take accountability, state that an itemized bill should have been provided, and work with me to get to a mutually agreeable resolution?

Date of Transaction: 09-08-2022, Customer ID: ********, Invoice #******, Patient: Too, Patient ID: ****** Carried Too in, went to counter told receptionist we need to have my dog euthanized. Ushered to side room. Vet Tech came in. Asked if we wanted to see a vet. We said NO, i.e., (NO EMERGENCY CONSULT for $86.00). Showed her softball size open sore tumor on his chest and explained 9/6 - active and eating, 9/7 difficulty walking and eating, 9/8 couldn't walk and exhibited pain for the 1st time. Decided it was time to have him euthanized. Asked if we wanted some time and we said no, the sooner the better. She took him right away. Then she came back to sell various remembrance plans. Told her we only wanted the euthanasia and cremation. Later someone else, Certified Euthanasia Tech or Vet. maybe, came in to inform us Too was given Propofol anesthesia first and then a barbiturate. She said Too is no longer with us. Asked if she could do anything. We said no. My wife, ***, walked out crying while I quickly paid by credit card without scrutinizing invoice. 9/27 looked at invoice and saw it was way too high compared to 11/6/21 invoice for $160 for the exact same service. *** called and spoke with **** ?. **** told her he will credit the $86.00 fee was charged in error, 'computer error'. 11/4 I informed **** ? we didn't receive credit. He in essence said the $86 was a legitimate charge and would not be refunded. I told him I thought they had taken advantage of our grief by adding a charge for services NOT rendered and I will take whatever means necessary for MedVet to refund the $86.00. My wife spoke with him and he said he'd talk with the Vet. 11/10 - **** Called and said ************* Dr. ****** (****************************** would not waive the fee as the waiver of the fee on the previous dog was by another Vet who waived it as a "Courtesy". There is no justification for charging for services not rendered and that were specifically denied when offered.pls excuse the brevity.

MedVet is unfairly charging me for a surgery consult when I clearly told them before the call that I was not scheduling surgery. When the call was scheduled, I was not told it was a surgery consult and there was a charge for the call. If MedVet had informed me of the charge, I would have refused the call.06/17/21: I brought my dog to MedVet. I had to sign an estimate of services (between $1400 and $1600) before ******************** would perform any service. I paid a $1000 deposit and the $521 balance when I picked up my dog. ******************** called me later to tell me about ************** recommendation that my dog have surgery, at a cost between $3500 and $5000. No other treatments were mentioned. Because ******************** said it was urgent, I said I would schedule the surgery for the next week.06/18/21: I called MedVet in the morning to tell ************ I would not schedule surgery, The MedVet staff person said she knew who I was because I was on the list of people she had to call. I told the MedVet staff person that I would not be scheduling surgery because I could not pay for it. She said she understood, but she said I should still talk to the doctor. She did not say the call was a surgery consult, or tell me there was a charge. If she had informed me of the charge, I would have refused the call.06/21/21: I spoke to ************. At the beginning of the call, I told ************ that I was not scheduling the surgery because I could not pay for it. She did not say that the call was a surgery consult, or that there was a charge for the call. For the next nine and a half minutes, ************ tried to persuade/pressure/bully me to schedule the surgery. ************ said her staff could tell me how to get a CARE credit card, and transferred the call. The staff person asked me if I was scheduling the surgery. When I said no, she hung up. I've spoken to **** in the AR/Metairie and ***********************. Both say that I received a surgical consult, so I must pay or be sent to collections.
